Mexican catering for your event in Chislet
With mobile Mexican catering, we bring the kitchen with us: we park our truck or trailer on site and serve hot food from it. You don’t need a kitchen at the venue. For school fairs and fundraisers and office lunches and team days, we’ll put together a menu of a build-your-own taco bar, burritos and burrito bowls and more.
In a small place like Chislet, events are usually in a garden, a field or a nearby hall. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives and we will plan for them, and soft ground after rain is worth mentioning. You will know what’s included before you book: menu, timings and any add-ons.
Dietary needs and planning tips
We take diets and allergies seriously. Help us by following these steps:
- Check that your venue allows outside caterers and vehicles
- Count children separately
- Ask guests about diets and allergies with your invitations
- Include at least one vegan filling
Rain doesn’t stop us serving from the truck or trailer, but guests will need somewhere covered to eat.
Burrito bowls suit guests who’d rather skip the tortilla, and they’re easy to adapt for different diets.
Mexican catering or something else?
Burgers and pizza are what guests often expect. Tacos, burritos and nachos feel a little different, while still being easy food most people enjoy. Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, as there is no kitchen to hire. Ask us for a quote.
Why book with us
- Allergen information for everything we serve
- A plan agreed before the day
- Options for vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free guests

The menu, item by item
Tacos
Warm tortillas with a choice of fillings, topped with salsa and fresh toppings. Fillings such as carnitas, chicken tinga or spiced mushrooms are agreed with you.
Quesadillas
Toasted tortillas with melted cheese inside, cut into wedges.
The process
We arrive in good time before service, then set up and prepare everything. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. Around midsummer it stays light in Chislet until about 9:15pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:00pm, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 3:50pm, plan lighting where guests queue and eat.
- Send us your date, numbers and venue.
- We plan a menu that covers every diet.
- We confirm the way in and where we will park.
- Food is served from the hatch or a taco-bar table.
- We clear our serving area when everyone is fed.
Getting ready for the day
- Give us your final numbers and diets
- Give us a contact for the day
- Tell us when you want service to start

Chislet: venues, access and local tips
Chislet is about 3 miles south-east of Herne Bay, in Kent. Tell us where your event in Chislet will be, and we will plan the journey and set-up before the day. Chislet is one of 922 towns and villages in Kent where we can bring Mexican catering. We cater right across the region, from Chislet to Canterbury (6 miles away).
For a fête or sports day at a school such as Chislet Church of England Primary School, hot food from a truck or trailer saves the volunteers from cooking. When the service is at a church such as Church of St Mary the Virgin, the food normally happens elsewhere, at a field, hall or garden with room for the truck. With the sea within about 4 miles, a beach-side event might appeal. Promenades and beaches typically need permission, and the truck or trailer has to park on firm ground, not sand.
This part of Kent takes in CT3, and we can cater your event anywhere in it with access for the truck or trailer. For events just outside Chislet, we cover Hollow Street (1 mile south-west), Chitty (1 mile east), Boyden Gate (1 mile north), Old Tree (1 mile west) and Hoath (1 mile west). We also cater in nearby towns such as Canterbury (6 miles south-west), Margate (9 miles east), Dover (14 miles south), Ramsgate (10 miles east), Broadstairs (10 miles east) and Whitstable (7 miles west).
Well-known places in the area include St Martins Hospital (5.5 miles south-west). Not far away are West Blean and Thornden Woods.
Chislet questions
Do you cater in villages like Chislet?
Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.
Which station should guests use for Chislet?
Herne Bay station, about 3.7 miles north-west of the centre.
Do you provide plates and napkins?
Ask us when you enquire. Let us know what you already have, and we’ll set out plates, napkins and cutlery in your quote.
What guest numbers do you cater for?
Truck and trailer service typically suits around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case.
How does mobile Mexican catering work?
Our food truck or trailer is a mobile kitchen. We set up, serve your guests and clear away when service ends.
Can you cater for special diets?
We can. We plan gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan options, with corn tortillas for gluten-free guests. Allergen information is available for every dish.
Do you come to Chislet?
Yes, we do. Chislet is one of the places we cover. Send us your date to check availability.
Do you have options for kids?
Yes. We can keep dishes mild, and simple options such as quesadillas or nachos can be part of the menu. Tell us how many children are coming.
For event organisers in Chislet
If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.
Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we’ll talk you through the process. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.
DIY taco night or a caterer?
A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, with allergen information for every dish.
DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.
