Mexican catering in Devil's Den, served fresh

Mixed diets are easy to plan with Mexican street food. We plan vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with corn tortillas for gluten-free guests, and allergen information is available for every dish. At company summer parties and leaving dos and retirement parties, we will put together a menu of loaded nachos, burrito bowls and fresh salsas and guacamole and more.

For a rural spot like Devil's Den, fields and drives need a little planning: gate widths, soft ground and the distance from the road all matter. Power and water may be limited, so we confirm the arrangements with you. Food and drinks can be booked together or separately, so the food and drinks can come from one caterer.

Comparing your options

Sit-down meals need a kitchen, tables and more staff. A food truck or trailer is its own kitchen, so we need a suitable spot, access and the venue’s permission, with power and water confirmed when you book. The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, plus any add-ons and the location. Every event gets its own quote.

Why book Mobile Mexican Catering in Devil's Den

  • Allergen information for everything we serve
  • Set-up planned with you and your venue
  • Menus for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests
  • Service planned around your numbers

Read our prices page and the cost guide.

Prices and what affects them

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • Timings and hours
  • What the venue already provides
  • Staff for serving and the bar
  • Food, drinks or both

If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we will suggest a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Getting an accurate quote

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:

  • Your menu ideas
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • The date and rough timings

The quickest way to a quote is to fill in our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we’ll suggest a menu to suit.

Salsas and guacamole, made fresh for your event.

Tacos

Street tacos are small, quick and full of flavour. They come with fresh salsas and toppings, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Planning for every diet

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. Our advice:

  • Tell us about coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
  • Think about cover for guests in wet weather
  • Count children separately
  • Ensure the menu has a vegan option

On the day, we arrive in good time to park up and get ready. All we need is someone to show us the agreed spot.

A tray of loaded nachos works well to start or as a late snack.

Planners, venues and businesses

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we’ll work to it.

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.

How it works

When service finishes, we pack up and leave our area tidy. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. A December event in Devil's Den will be in the dark from about 3:50pm, so choose a spot where guests can see what they’re ordering. At midsummer, the light holds until around 9:15pm.

  1. It begins with the basics: your date, venue, guest numbers and dietary needs.
  2. You get a suggested menu, with fillings agreed with you, and a quote.
  3. Together we confirm where the truck or trailer will park, plus power and water.
  4. On the day, we set up and serve from the truck or trailer, or from a taco-bar station.
  5. After service, we clear away and leave the spot tidy.

Before we arrive

  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site
  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in

Common questions in Devil's Den

Will you travel to a small place like Devil's Den?

Yes, small places are no problem, given access. Tell us about lanes, gates, ground and parking.

Is Devil's Den close to London?

About 36 miles from central London, and we cover it.

Do you cook on site?

We cook to order in our truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.

How much space do you need?

The main things are access and a level spot: a firm spot for the truck or trailer, room for a queue and, for a taco bar, space for a serving table. If in doubt, send us a photo of the space and the way in.

What about power on site?

That depends on the set-up, and we agree power and water with you before the day. Let us know whether there is a supply near where we will park.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

Truck and trailer service usually suits around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller parties are quoted case by case, and festivals can be larger. Tell us your numbers.

Can you cater in a back garden?

It depends on access. If the truck or trailer cannot reach the garden, a drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission. Tell us about the space and we will advise.

Do you do margaritas?

Yes, we run a Mexican drinks bar, serving margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas such as hibiscus and horchata, and soft drinks. Your venue or event may need the right licence for alcohol, so we’ll talk licensing through with you.
