Mexican catering for your event in Dunn Street

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance and kept hot on site, while the salsas and guacamole are made fresh. We warm the tortillas as each order goes out. At school fairs and fundraisers and engagement celebrations, we can serve burrito bowls, fresh salsas and guacamole and a build-your-own taco bar for your guests.

In a hamlet or village like Dunn Street, your own garden or a neighbour’s field can make a good venue. Gates, verges and soft ground are worth mentioning when you enquire. We serve from the hatch of our food truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

The process

When we arrive, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. Service starts at the time we have agreed, planned around your event. Around midsummer it stays light in Dunn Street until about 9:15pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:00pm, so summer evening events are typically served in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:50pm, plan lighting where guests queue and eat.

  1. It begins with the basics: your date, venue, guest numbers and dietary needs.
  2. You get a suggested menu, with fillings agreed with you, and a quote.
  3. Before the day, we agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
  4. On the day, we set up and serve from the truck or trailer, or from a taco-bar station.
  5. Once everyone has eaten, we tidy our serving area and head off.

Questions to ask before booking

Dunn Street questions

Could you serve in South Wood?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we will send what they need from us.

We are having a ceremony at Church of St Peter: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Can you plan for allergies?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. UK law requires caterers to provide information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.

What’s on the menu?

Mexican street food: tacos, taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas, with salsas, guacamole and toppings. We also run a Mexican drinks bar.

Can you cater for special diets?

We plan carefully for diets and keep options separate, but we can’t promise a kitchen without traces of any allergen. Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us first.

Can you do dairy-free food?

Yes, on request. Let us know your dairy-free numbers, and we’ll include them in the plan.

Where do you cater?

We cover London and the South East, Medway included. See all areas.

How far ahead should we book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Even if it is short notice, it is worth asking.

How we price Mexican catering

Every event is priced individually, based on a few main things:

  • Serving staff
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Travel, parking and access
  • Food, drinks or both

Larger events can cost less per head, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

What we need to know

To check availability and price, we need:

  • Where the event is
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • A photo of the space, if it is a garden or field

Each quote is tailored to your event. Tell us your date and guest numbers, and we will confirm whether we are available that day.

Catering for every guest

Most events have a mix of diets. To plan for them:

  • Plan somewhere covered for guests to eat if it rains
  • Guests with serious allergies should speak to us in advance
  • Tell us what other food is being served
  • Send allergy details to us in writing

For a taco bar, we lay the fillings, salsas and toppings out on a table, and guests build their own while we keep it topped up.

Ask about extra salsas and toppings for a bigger spread.

Mexican catering or something else?

Platters dropped off in the morning are easy but forgettable. Hot food served from a truck feels like part of the event. There is no one-size-fits-all price for Mexican catering. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Contact us for a quote.

Why us?

  • Options for vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free guests
  • A quote that sets out what’s included
  • Quick, friendly service from the hatch
  • Everything served fresh from the hatch
