Planning an event in East End?

About our Mexican catering in East End

Food from a truck or trailer feels relaxed. Guests come up to the hatch, chat while they wait and take something hot back to their seats, which suits informal events. We serve burrito bowls, a build-your-own taco bar and loaded nachos, which works well for garden parties and staff parties and office lunches.

In a small place like East End, events are generally in a garden, a field or a nearby hall. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives and we will plan for them, and firm ground matters, especially after rain. You will know what’s included before you book: the menu, the service time and any extras you choose.

How the day works

From set-up to service, we look after everything you’ve booked from us, so you can enjoy your event. Around midsummer it stays light in East End until about 9:15pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:00pm, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 3:50pm, plan lighting where guests queue and eat.

  1. It begins with the basics: your date, venue, guest numbers and dietary needs.
  2. We suggest a sample menu and send a quote for your event.
  3. Before the day, we agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
  4. On the day, we set up and serve from the truck or trailer, or from a taco-bar station.
  5. After service, we clear away and leave the spot tidy.

Getting ready for the day

  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Give us your final numbers and diets

Prices and what affects them

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • How many staff you need
  • The length of service
  • The menu you choose

Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, as there’s no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.

What to tell us

These details help us quote quickly:

  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • A picture of the space, if it’s a garden or field
  • How we drive in and where we can park

Getting a quote is simple: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We’ll send you a clear quote.

Common questions in East End

Can you bring a truck or trailer to venues in the High Weald National Landscape?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We’ll follow the site rules.

Can you cater a reception after a service at St Margaret's Church?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Tell us where the reception will be.

Can guests build their own tacos?

Yes, a taco bar is one of our options. Tell us about your space and numbers and we’ll recommend how to serve.

Do you serve in the rain?

We can still serve in the rain. Have somewhere covered ready for guests.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Yes. Vegetarian and vegan fillings, such as spiced mushrooms or black beans, can be part of the menu, served alongside the meat options.

What food do you serve?

Every menu is agreed with you, with fillings such as chicken tinga, carnitas or black beans. The sample menu shows the options.

Is the food very hot?

It’s up to you: we can keep it mild and put the hotter salsas on the side. Read more about how spicy Mexican food is.

Can you set up at our venue?

Send us details of the venue and the access, and we will check it works. Space for a queue and, if you choose one, a taco-bar table helps too.

The menu, item by item

Salsas and guacamole

Every taco needs salsa and guacamole, and guests add as much as they like.

Build-your-own taco bar

The taco bar keeps things sociable, and guests with different diets can choose what suits them.

Catering an event in East End

East End is about 11 miles west of Ashford, in Kent. We bring Mexican catering to gardens, halls and venues around East End. We serve in all 922 towns and villages across Kent, from the larger towns to small villages, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. Our truck and trailer cover the area from East End to Canterbury (about 24 miles away).

Nearby historic houses include Smallhythe Place (5 miles south-east). If your event is at a historic house or estate, check its rules on outside caterers and vehicles early. The High Weald National Landscape is within about 4 miles of East End, with country venues and gardens that can suit a food truck. Some venues in protected landscapes have rules about vehicles and catering, so check with yours.

We serve at events all over the TN17 postcode area and the streets around it. That could mean an event at a home with a drive on Wood Lane, Mockbeggar Lane and Jackson Way. Nearby, we also cater events in Fosten Green (1 mile north), Clapper Hill (1 mile north-east), Parkgate (1 mile east), West Cross (2 miles south) and Strood (2 miles south-east). Larger places within reach include Maidstone (13 miles north), Ashford (11 miles east), Foley Park (14 miles north), Paddock Wood (12 miles north-west), Tenterden (3 miles east) and Bearsted (13 miles north).

Nearby you’ll also find Sissinghurst Castle (2.5 miles north-west) and Benenden Hospital (under half a mile south).

Organising for someone else?

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

Space, access and the venue

Every venue is different, so we ask about the space when you contact us. In general, we need:

  • A spot for a taco-bar serving table
  • A clear area in front of the hatch for a queue
  • Access wide and high enough to drive in, with gates and soft lawns checked first

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Catering for every guest

Nearly every event has some special diets. To plan for them:

  • Plan somewhere covered for guests to eat if it rains
  • Ask the venue whether food trucks are allowed
  • Let us know if a guest is coeliac
  • Let us know about any other food at the event

Food is served from the hatch, order by order, so everything goes out hot.

Tell us if you need plates, cutlery or serving staff and we’ll set out what we can do in your quote.

Should I do it myself?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Comparing your options

A barbecue often means a host tied to the grill. Book us and the cooking happens in our truck or trailer. Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.
