Mexican street food for East End events

Mexican street food in East End, served fresh

One Mexican trader covers several diets: we serve vegan and vegetarian fillings and corn tortillas for gluten-free visitors. That makes your food line-up easier. On the menu are burritos, quesadillas and tacos, which works well for food and music festivals and community events and open days.

Near East End, events may be far from shops and cafés, so a taco truck is a welcome sight. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

Your questions about Mexican street food in East End

Is East End close to London?

It’s about 42 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Can you bring a truck or trailer to venues in the High Weald National Landscape?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes. We can include vegetarian and vegan fillings like black beans or spiced mushrooms.

Do you do crew catering?

We can. We can cook for crew, volunteers or a hospitality area as well as, or instead of, a public stall.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. For anything outside that, ask us.

What happens if it rains?

The truck or trailer can serve in the rain, but guests need somewhere covered to eat and drink, such as a marquee, gazebo or nearby building.

How spicy is the food?

We can keep it mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

What do you need at the pitch?

Let us know what the pitch has and we will confirm our needs. Power and water are agreed with each booking.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

What we need at the venue

If a space is not suitable, we’ll tell you, and help find another spot. What matters most:

  • Vehicle access before and after the event
  • The event’s site rules and timings
  • Clearance from tents and gazebos

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise.

Step by step

On the day, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. We’re ready to serve at the agreed time, planned around your event. Summer events in East End have daylight until about 9:15pm at midsummer and about 7:00pm by late September, which helps evening trading. For winter markets, dark by about 3:50pm, the pitch needs lighting.

  1. First, we check the dates.
  2. We agree what we’ll serve and where.
  3. We send the paperwork your event asks for.
  4. We are ready to serve as visitors arrive.
  5. We trade, then pack down.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site
