About our Mexican catering in Etchinghill

We bring our truck or trailer to events in and around Etchinghill: gardens, fields, yards and venues with hardstanding, wherever we can get in safely. We serve a build-your-own taco bar, quesadillas and burrito bowls, which works well for christenings and family parties and summer garden parties.

Somewhere as small as Etchinghill, a garden or field is often the venue. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives and we will plan for them, and soft ground after rain is worth mentioning. We arrive ready to serve, and clear our own area when service is finished.

Planning for every diet

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Put any allergies in writing for us
  • Guests with serious allergies should speak to us in advance
  • Plan a vegan filling as well as a vegetarian one
  • Collect dietary needs when guests reply

Guests order at the hatch and we serve them there and then, so it’s hot when it reaches them.

Loaded nachos make a good sharing starter or as a late snack.

The process

We work to your timings. If things run behind, let us know and we’ll adjust where we can. Daylight in Etchinghill runs to about 8:45pm in late May and 7:00pm in late September. Let us know if service will run after dark, and we will talk about lighting.

  1. First, send us your date, venue, numbers and any diets we should know about.
  2. We put together a menu around your guests and quote for it.
  3. Before the day, we agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
  4. We arrive, set up and cook to order, with salsas and guacamole made fresh.
  5. Once everyone has eaten, we tidy our serving area and head off.

How to prepare

  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Give us a contact for the day

Mexican catering or something else?

Next to a hog roast or a barbecue, tacos make vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests easier to cater for, because fillings and toppings are kept separate. Access, parking and the distance to your venue can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Your quote confirms the full price.

Common questions in Etchinghill

Which station should guests use for Etchinghill?

Guests can use Sandling station, about 2 miles south-west of Etchinghill.

Can you serve near the sea around Etchinghill?

We can, given firm ground and the landowner’s permission. Beaches and promenades normally need the council’s agreement, so check that first.

What can we choose from?

Every menu is agreed with you, with fillings such as carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria or spiced mushrooms. The sample menu shows the options.

Is the food made fresh?

Food is cooked to order in our food truck or trailer, or served from a build-your-own taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.

Can you cater for special diets?

Diets are planned in advance, with options kept separate, but we can’t promise a kitchen without traces of any allergen. Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us first.

What access do you need?

The main things are access and a level spot: a firm spot for the truck or trailer, room for a queue and, for a taco bar, space for a serving table. If in doubt, send us a picture of the space and the way in.

Do you cater in Etchinghill?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, and Etchinghill is within our area and the rest of Kent. To check your date, tell us about it on our contact page.

Can you cater for children?

Of course. Mild dishes, quesadillas and nachos can be part of the menu. Tell us how many children are coming.

How we price Mexican catering

Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:

  • What’s on the menu
  • Timings and hours
  • Whether you need disposables
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food

Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you choose what goes in.

What to tell us

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • The venue or postcode
  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • What you’d like on the menu

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll check availability at the same time.

Quesadillas

Space, access and the venue

Plenty of outdoor spaces and venues work for us, but a few things matter:

  • A spot for a taco-bar serving table
  • Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer
  • A route in that is wide and tall enough, with soft ground checked in advance

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly before booking.
