About our Mexican catering in Postling

Food from a truck or trailer feels relaxed. Guests come up to the hatch, chat while they wait and take something hot back to their seats, which suits informal events. On the menu are burritos, tacos and a build-your-own taco bar, and it’s a good fit for milestone birthdays and christenings and family parties.

Somewhere like Postling, a field or garden is often the setting. Gates, verges and soft ground are worth mentioning when you enquire. We plan the timings around your day, whether that is speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

Questions from Postling

Will you travel to a small place like Postling?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Do you cater in the Kent Downs National Landscape?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We will follow the site rules.

How much does Mexican catering cost?

We quote for each event, based on guest numbers, the menu, the venue and timings. Contact us for a quote.

What do you serve?

Every menu is agreed with you. Fillings could include chicken tinga, pork carnitas, al pastor-style pork and vegan options like black beans. See our menu for ideas.

What areas do you cover?

London and the South East: Greater London, Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire.

Can you do dairy-free food?

Yes, we can. Let us know your dairy-free numbers, and we will plan the menu around them.

What food do you serve?

Tacos and taco bars, plus burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas. See our sample menu.

Can you do gluten-free food?

We can, using corn tortillas. Corn is naturally gluten-free, though some sauces and toppings can contain gluten, so we check every dish and give allergen information.

Diets, allergies and planning

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. Our advice:

  • Send allergy details to us in writing
  • Plan somewhere covered for guests to eat if it rains
  • Confirm the venue is happy to have a catering vehicle
  • Collect dietary needs when guests reply

Allergen information is on hand for every dish, so guests can check before they order.

Burrito bowls suit guests who’d rather skip the tortilla.

Postling: venues, access and local tips

Postling is about 3 miles north of Hythe, in Kent. From the centre of Postling to the outskirts, we offer the same service: fresh service from our food truck or trailer, every diet planned for and a clear quote. We cater in 922 places in Kent, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. Our nearest city page is Canterbury, about 12 miles away.

Historic houses near Postling include Westenhanger Castle (1.8 miles south-west) and Acrise Place (3.6 miles north-east). Estates and historic houses tend to set their own rules for caterers, so find out what yours allows first. For a fête or sports day at a school such as Brockhill Park Performing Arts College, hot food from a truck or trailer saves the volunteers from cooking. Venues in and around the Kent Downs National Landscape, within about 4 miles of Postling, sometimes limit where vehicles can go. Ask yours about access for a truck or trailer before you book. The coast is within about 4 miles of Postling, so for a seaside event we plan around the wind. The truck or trailer needs firm ground rather than sand or shingle, and seafront spots usually need permission from the council or landowner.

We serve at events all over CT21. We also serve at events in Stanford (1 mile south-west), Skeete (1 mile north), Etchinghill (1 mile east), Woodland (2 miles north) and Lyminge (2 miles north-east). Within a short drive, we also cover Ashford (9 miles west), Canterbury (12 miles north), Dover (10 miles east), Folkestone (5 miles east), Hythe (3 miles south) and Tower Hamlets (10 miles east).

A little further out are Elham Valley Countryside Centre And Railway Museum (2.4 miles east) and Saltwood Castle (2.1 miles south-east). The countryside around Postling includes Tolsford Hill.

Tacos

Tacos are the classic street food of Mexico. They come with fresh salsas and toppings.

Burritos and burrito bowls

A big flour tortilla wrapped round rice, beans, a filling and toppings, or the same served in a bowl.

Mexican catering or something else?

Sit-down meals need a kitchen, tables and more staff. A food truck or trailer is its own kitchen, and needs a suitable spot, safe access and the venue’s agreement. Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the length of service, along with extras and where your event is. We quote for each event individually.

Why us?

  • Served fresh from our truck or trailer
  • Access, space and power checked in advance
  • Menus chosen with you
  • Menus for vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free guests

Take a look at our prices page and what Mexican catering costs.

The process

On the day, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. We’re ready to serve at the agreed time, so everything runs to your schedule. In Postling, the sun sets at about 9:15pm in late June and about 7:00pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:50pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. Start by telling us about your event.
  2. You get a sample menu and a quote.
  3. We agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
  4. On the day we park up, set up and serve hot food to order.
  5. Once service ends, we clear away.

Before we arrive

  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in
  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Give us a contact for the day
