Mexican catering in Folkington

How our Mexican catering works in Folkington

Mobile Mexican catering means the kitchen comes to you: we park our truck or trailer on site and serve hot food from it. You do not need a kitchen at the venue. On the menu are a build-your-own taco bar, burrito bowls and loaded nachos, which works well for leaving parties and family gatherings and christenings.

In a rural place like Folkington, access is the main thing to plan: the gate, the ground and the route from the lane. Power and water may be limited, so we confirm the arrangements with you. We arrive ready to serve, and clear our own area when service is finished.

Space, access and the venue

Every venue is different, so we’ll ask about yours when you get in touch. Generally, we look for:

  • Details of power and water on site, agreed when you book
  • A spot away from buildings, windows and neighbours
  • Space for a taco-bar table if you’ve chosen one

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before booking.

Our caterer checklist

The menu, item by item

Quesadillas

Tortillas filled with melted cheese and a filling, toasted until crisp.

Loaded nachos

Tortilla chips piled with cheese, a filling, salsa, guacamole and toppings.

Comparing your options

Platters dropped off in the morning are easy but forgettable. Live service from a truck or trailer gives guests hot food and something to talk about. There is no one-size-fits-all price for Mexican catering. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Your quote sets it all out.

Folkington: your questions answered

We are having a ceremony at The Parish Church of Saint Peter: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Can you serve near the sea around Folkington?

Yes, as long as the site allows it and the ground is firm. Wind, sand and seafront permissions are the main things to plan on the coast.

Do you have options for kids?

Of course. Mild dishes, quesadillas and nachos can be part of the menu. Tell us how many children are coming.

Do you give allergen information?

Our menus are planned with allergies in mind, nut allergies included, and give allergen information for every dish. We keep options separate, but we cannot promise anything is completely allergen-free. If a guest has a severe allergy, please talk to us before the event.

Do you provide plates and napkins?

Ask us when you enquire. Let us know what you already have, and we’ll set out plates, napkins and cutlery in your quote.

Do you do margaritas?

Yes, we offer a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Your venue or event may need the right licence for alcohol, so we’ll talk licensing through with you.

Do you clear up afterwards?

Our area is packed away and left tidy. Let us know the venue’s rules on waste and we’ll confirm the arrangements with your quote.

Is the food very hot?

We can keep it mild, with hotter salsas on the side for anyone who wants more heat.

How it works

Service is quick and friendly: guests are served at the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our area. Around midsummer it stays light in Folkington until about 9:15pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. It begins with the basics: your date, venue, guest numbers and dietary needs.
  2. We put together a menu around your guests and quote for it.
  3. Together we confirm where the truck or trailer will park, plus power and water.
  4. On the day we arrive, set up and serve hot food from our truck or trailer.
  5. After service, we clear away and leave the spot tidy.

Preparing for the day

  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site
  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer

Can I do a taco night myself?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Read our guide to taco bars.

Diets, allergies and planning

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because options can be kept separate. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Put guests with severe allergies in touch with us early
  • Ask the venue whether food trucks are allowed
  • Include at least one vegan filling
  • Send allergy details to us in writing

If you’ve chosen a taco bar, the fillings, salsas and toppings go out on a serving table, and guests help themselves while we keep it topped up.

Extra salsas and toppings can widen the choice.

What affects the price in Folkington

Your quote will be clear. What affects it most:

  • How many staff you need
  • Timings and hours
  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Travel, parking and access

Extra dishes, drinks and longer service are priced on request, so you choose what goes in.

What we need to know

When you get in touch, it helps to tell us:

  • Expected numbers
  • The date and rough timings
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • What power and water the site has

Not sure what you need yet? That’s fine: give us the basics about your event, and we’ll make suggestions. When you’re ready, use our quote form.
