Questions from Greatness
Do you come to events in the Kent Downs National Landscape?
Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and catering, so check with yours. Tell us about narrow lanes and soft ground.
We’re having a ceremony at St John the Baptist: can you cater afterwards?
Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.
How is the food prepared?
We slow-cook fillings ahead, then finish them and keep them hot at your event. The tortillas are warmed on site, and the salsas and guacamole are made fresh.
Do you need electricity?
Let us know what’s available on site, such as a supply from the venue near where we’ll park, and we will confirm what we need with your quote.
Do you bring plates and cutlery?
Please ask us. Tell us what your venue provides, and we will set out plates, napkins and cutlery in your quote.
What do you need at the venue?
The main things are access and a level spot: a level spot to park, space for guests to queue and a little room for a serving table. Send us a photo and tell us about gates, slopes and soft ground.
How big an event can you cater?
Truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Send us your numbers and we will advise.
What space do you need?
Send us details of the venue and the access, and we’ll confirm what we need. We also need room for a queue.
Mexican catering in Greatness, from our food truck or trailer
We bring our truck or trailer to events in and around Greatness: gardens, fields, yards and venues with hardstanding, as long as there is safe access. Popular choices include fresh salsas and guacamole, quesadillas and burritos, which works well for anniversaries and engagements and family gatherings and christenings.
In a smaller place like Greatness, your own garden, drive or a local hall is often the simplest option: no venue hire, and nobody stuck in the kitchen. Let us know about the route to the house. Guests are served from our truck or trailer, or from a serving table nearby, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.
Who books Mexican catering in Greatness?
There’s no kitchen needed at the venue, so gardens, fields and outdoor venues are all possible.
If you’re planning any of these, we can help:
- Big birthday celebrations
- Engagement and anniversary parties
- Fundraisers and school events
- Family celebrations
A gathering in Montreal Park would need the park owner’s say-so for any catering vehicle, and that is worth sorting out early.
Questions to ask before you book
- The caterer’s food hygiene rating
- Whether travel is included
- Plates and napkins, or nothing at all
- What happens if it rains
Planning a food truck in Greatness
Greatness is about 1 mile north-east of Sevenoaks, in Kent. From the centre of Greatness to the outskirts, Mexican catering works the same way: a truck or trailer at your event, options for every diet and a clear price. Greatness is one of 922 places in Kent we cover. We cater right across the region, from Greatness to London (19 miles away).
When the service is at a church such as St John the Baptist, the food generally happens elsewhere, at a field, hall or garden with room for the truck. For a fête or sports day at a school such as St John's Church of England Primary School, hot food from a truck or trailer saves the volunteers from cooking. Venues in and around the Kent Downs National Landscape, within about 4 miles of Greatness, sometimes limit where vehicles can go. Ask yours about access for a truck or trailer before booking.
We cater events across TN13, TN14 and TN15 and the streets around it. Whether your event is on Seal Road, Mill Lane and Sandy Lane or anywhere nearby, we can bring Mexican catering there, given access. Close by, we cover events in Seal (1 mile east), Godden Green (2 miles south-east), Styants Bottom (3 miles east), Bitchet Green (3 miles south-east) and Stone Street (3 miles south-east). Larger places within reach include Maidstone (14 miles east), Dartford (11 miles north), Royal Tunbridge Wells (11 miles south), Gravesend (12 miles north-east), Tonbridge (7 miles south-east) and Northfleet (12 miles north-east).
Nearby you will also find Sevenoaks Museum (1.3 miles south) and Kemsing Castle Bank (1.7 miles north-east). The countryside around Greatness includes Dryhill Nature Reserve.
- Schools near Greatness include Knole Academy (0.7 miles west) and Wildernesse School (0.9 miles east)
- Nearby, you will find The Old Bat and Ball pub (less than half a mile south-west)

We work to your timings. If things run behind, tell us and we will adjust the start of service where we can. Evenings in Greatness stay light until about 9:20pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:05pm. For anything running past sunset, think about lights near the hatch.
- First, send us a few details about your event.
- We suggest fillings and extras and send a quote.

Catering for every guest
A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:
- Tell us about coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
- Include at least one vegan filling
- Ask the venue whether food trucks are allowed
- Put any allergies in writing for us
Once everyone has eaten, we tidy up and pack away.
A tray of loaded nachos works well to start or as a late snack.
Popular choices
Tacos
Street tacos are small, quick and full of flavour. We serve them with salsas and toppings, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests.
Burritos and burrito bowls
Burritos are filling and easy to eat on the move. The bowl version suits anyone avoiding tortillas.

Can I do a taco night myself?
A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it is more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.
Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.
