Mexican catering in Hever, served fresh
Serving from a truck or trailer keeps the mood easy-going. People wander up, order at the hatch and head off with hot food. We serve tacos, burritos and loaded nachos, and it’s a good fit for family celebrations and retirement and leaving parties.
Somewhere like Hever, a field or garden is often the setting. Gates, verges and soft ground are worth mentioning when you enquire. Timings are planned around your event, whether that’s speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.
Your questions about Mexican catering in Hever
We are having a ceremony at Church of St Peter: can you cater afterwards?
Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.
Can you bring a truck or trailer to venues in the High Weald National Landscape?
Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and catering, so check with yours. Tell us about narrow lanes and soft ground.
Can you serve drinks as well?
Our drinks bar can be added to any booking, with bar staff serving margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas. We’ll go through the licensing with you before the day.
How long do you serve for?
We get there well before service to set up. The length of service is agreed when you book.
Can you set up at our venue?
Send us details of the venue and the access, and we’ll confirm what we need. We also need room for a queue.
What do you need at the venue?
A level, firm spot for the truck or trailer, with access wide and high enough to drive in, and the venue’s agreement. Power and water arrangements are confirmed with each booking.
What’s on the menu?
Mexican street food: tacos, taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas, plus salsas, guacamole and toppings. We also run a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.
How many guests can you serve?
Truck and trailer service usually suits around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller parties are quoted case by case, and festivals can be larger. Send us your numbers and we’ll advise.
Prices and what affects them
Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:
- How many guests we’re serving
- Parking and the route in
- Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
- The menu you choose

How it works
Service is quick and friendly: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our area. In Hever, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening events are normally served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.
- It begins with the basics: your date, venue, guest numbers and dietary needs.
- We put together a menu around your guests and quote for it.
- Before the day, we agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
- We arrive, set up and cook to order, with salsas and guacamole made fresh.
- Once everyone has eaten, we tidy our serving area and head off.
Before we arrive
- Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
- Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
- Ask the venue about power and water
How to get a price
It’s easy to get a price: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We will come back with a clear quote and a suggested menu.
Planning help
Diets, allergies and planning
We cater for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests. To get it right:
- Guests with serious allergies should speak to us in advance
- Include at least one vegan filling
- Confirm allergies by email before the event
- Tell us how many children are coming
We work around your timings, and adapt if they move.
Ask about extra salsas and toppings for a bigger spread.
DIY taco night versus a caterer
Some hosts like to do it themselves. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.
Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Contact us for a quote to compare.
