Mexican catering in Hillhead

About our Mexican catering in Hillhead

You can keep the menu short or make it a feast: a taco menu, or tacos plus loaded nachos, quesadillas and burrito bowls. Our Mexican drinks bar can be added too, with licensing checked with you. At big birthday celebrations and staff parties and office lunches, we’ll put together a menu of quesadillas, loaded nachos and burrito bowls.

Somewhere as small as Hillhead, a garden or field is often the venue. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives and we’ll plan for them, and firm ground matters, especially after rain. Your quote sets out what’s included: menu, timings and any add-ons.

How we price Mexican catering

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • How long we’re needed on site
  • What the venue already provides
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • The menu you choose

The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

What to tell us

These details help us quote quickly:

  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • The date and rough timings
  • Where the event is
  • Any dietary needs and allergies

It’s easy to get a price: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We will send you a clear quote.

Perfect for your event in Hillhead

You do not need a kitchen, so gardens, fields and outdoor venues are all possible.

Here are some of the events we cater around Hillhead:

  • Engagement and anniversary parties
  • Garden get-togethers
  • Markets and community events
  • School fairs and fundraisers

Guests leaving a church like St George after a christening could walk over to a nearby garden where the tacos are ready.

What your quote should include

  • The caterer’s food hygiene rating
  • Space, access, power and water needs
  • How long the service runs
  • Payment terms and deposit

Questions to ask before you book

FAQs for Hillhead

Could you come to a seaside event near Hillhead?

Yes, as long as the site allows it and the ground is firm. Seafront and beach spots normally need permission, and wind is the main thing to plan for.

Which station should guests use for Hillhead?

Hamble station, about 4.3 miles north of the centre.

How does your Mexican catering work?

Our truck or trailer is a mobile kitchen. We set up, serve your guests and clear away when service ends.

Is the food made fresh?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. Tortillas are warmed on site, and salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Do you need electricity?

Tell us what the site has, such as a supply from the venue near where we’ll park, and we will confirm what we need with your quote.

What areas do you cover?

London and South East England: Greater London, Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire.

How many guests can you serve?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but our truck and trailer service usually suits around 50 to 400 guests. Tell us your numbers and we will advise.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

We plan allergen-aware menus, including for nut allergies, and give allergen information for every dish. We plan carefully and keep options separate, though we cannot promise a dish is allergen-free. If a guest has a severe allergy, please talk to us before the event.

What happens on the day

We arrive in good time before service, then set up and prepare everything. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. Evenings in Hillhead stay light until about 9:20pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm. For anything running past sunset, think about lights near the hatch.

  1. First, send us a few details about your event.
  2. We suggest fillings and extras and send a quote.
  3. We agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
  4. We arrive, set up and serve from the hatch.
  5. Once service ends, we clear away.

Preparing for the day

Organising for someone else?

Hosting a party at home? Send us a photo of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we’ll let you know if it’s a good fit.

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can check the date.

Diets, allergies and planning

A Mexican menu is easy to plan for mixed diets, because options can be kept separate. A few tips:

  • Guests with serious allergies should speak to us in advance
  • Count children separately
  • Mention any other caterers or courses
  • Tell us about coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences

Food is served from the hatch, order by order, so it’s hot when it reaches them.

Ask about extra salsas and toppings for a bigger spread.

Should I do it myself?

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
