Planning an event in Lingfield?

Mexican catering in Lingfield, from our food truck or trailer

Our truck and trailer service tends to suit around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case, so let us know how many you expect. It suits leaving parties and birthday parties, serving loaded nachos, a build-your-own taco bar and burritos.

Around Lingfield, events are often in gardens, fields, local halls or nearby venues. If the road in is narrow or the ground is soft, tell us so we can plan for the truck or trailer. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

Before you choose a spot

If a space is not suitable, we’ll tell you. What matters most:

  • Space for a taco-bar table if you’ve chosen one
  • Some distance from houses and neighbours
  • Hardstanding or firm, level ground to park on

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before you book.

Popular choices

  • Build-your-own taco bar
  • Quesadillas
  • Burrito bowls
  • Loaded nachos

Planning for every diet

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:

  • Count children separately
  • Let us know about any other food at the event
  • Plan a vegan filling as well as a vegetarian one
  • Ask guests about diets and allergies with your invitations

For a taco bar, we lay the fillings, salsas and toppings out on a table, and guests build their own while we keep it topped up.

Quesadillas go down well with children.

Planning a food truck in Lingfield

Lingfield is about 3 miles north of East Grinstead, in Surrey. Tell us where your event in Lingfield will be, and we’ll plan the journey and set-up. Lingfield is one of 395 places in Surrey we cover. We cater right across the region, from Lingfield to London (23 miles away).

Historic houses near Lingfield include Hammerwood Park (4.5 miles south-east) and Saint Hill Manor (4.9 miles south). If your event is at a historic house or estate, check its rules on outside caterers and vehicles early. Parks such as Centenary Fields typically need the owner’s permission for vehicles and catering, so ask before you plan an event there. With the High Weald National Landscape about 6 miles away at most, a rural setting is never far from Lingfield. Country lanes there can be narrow and verges soft, so tell us about the route in.

We cater events across the RH7 postcode area and the streets around it. Local streets include High Street, Station Road and Old School Place; for an event at home on any of them, tell us where the truck or trailer can park. Close by, we cover events in Lingfield Common (1 mile north-west), Felcourt (1 mile south), Dormansland (1 mile south-east), Newchapel (2 miles south-west) and Dormans Park (2 miles south). We also cater in nearby towns such as Horley (7 miles west), Redhill (8 miles north-west), Reigate (9 miles north-west), Caterham (8 miles north-west), Dorking (14 miles west) and Oxted (5 miles north).

Questions from Lingfield

What’s the nearest station to Lingfield for guests?

Lingfield has its own station: Lingfield station.

Is it possible to have you in Centenary Fields?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we will send what they need from us.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, with corn tortillas. Corn is naturally gluten-free, though some sauces and toppings can contain gluten, so we check every dish and give allergen information.

When do you arrive?

That depends on your event and menu. Timings are agreed in advance to suit your day.

Can you cater for children?

Yes, children are easy to plan for. Let us know numbers and ages, and we’ll suggest mild options.

Can you serve drinks as well?

You can add our drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Alcohol needs the right licence, so we will check that with you.

Can you keep it mild?

It’s up to you: we can keep it mild and put the hotter salsas on the side.

Can you serve in the rain?

We can serve from the hatch in the rain. Plan cover for guests, such as a marquee or gazebo, and tell us if heavy rain could make the ground soft.

How to compare caterers

Popular choices

Salsas and guacamole

The salsas and guacamole finish every plate.

The process

Once service is over, we pack down and clear our own area. Set-up and pack-down times are agreed with you and the venue. In Lingfield, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening events are generally served in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm, plan lighting where guests queue and eat.

  1. Share the date, the venue and how many are coming.
  2. Together we plan a menu around your guests’ diets.
  3. We confirm the way in and where we’ll park.
  4. Food is served from the hatch or a taco-bar table.
  5. After the last serving, we clear our area.

How to prepare

  • Ask the venue about power and water
  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Let us know the timings for the day

Comparing your options

A cold buffet is simple but tends to sit out for hours. Tacos and burritos are made to order and served hot. Pricing depends on the event. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Your quote sets it all out.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.
