Mexican catering in Parkgate, from our truck or trailer

A build-your-own taco bar is one of the most sociable ways to feed a crowd. Everyone builds their own tacos from what’s laid out, so nobody ends up with something they don’t want. It suits staff parties and office lunches and garden get-togethers, with burrito bowls, burritos and tacos.

Somewhere as small as Parkgate, a garden or field is often the venue. Country lanes, long drives and gates are fine if we know about them, and firm ground matters, especially after rain. Every guest is catered for, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free included, with allergen information for everything we serve.

How the day works

When we arrive, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. We are ready to serve at the agreed time, so everything runs to your schedule. Winter evenings in Parkgate close in by about 3:55pm, so a well-lit spot for the queue makes a big difference. At midsummer, the light holds until around 9:20pm.

  1. It begins with the basics: your date, venue, guest numbers and dietary needs.
  2. We suggest a sample menu and send a quote for your event.
  3. Before the day, we agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
  4. On the day, we set up and serve from the truck or trailer, or from a taco-bar station.
  5. Once everyone has eaten, we tidy our serving area and head off.

Before we arrive

  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Give us a contact for the day

Parkgate: your questions answered

What’s the nearest station to Parkgate for guests?

Holmwood station, about 2.1 miles west of the centre.

Do you come out to small places like Parkgate?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

What are your prices?

There’s no fixed price list, as each event is different. Send your details and you’ll get a quote for your event.

Do you need power and water?

Let us know what’s available on site, such as a supply from the venue near where we will park, and we will confirm the arrangements with your quote.

Can you serve drinks as well?

We can. The drinks bar offers margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and alcohol-free drinks. Licensing is checked with you first.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes, we do. Our drinks bar can be booked on its own or with food, with alcohol-free options such as aguas frescas. For alcohol, we will check the licensing with you and your venue.

Do you do parties at home?

Yes, as long as there’s access and a level, firm spot. Send us a picture of the access and the space.

Is the food made fresh?

We cook to order in our truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Slow-cooked fillings are prepared in advance and kept hot on site.

Who books Mexican catering in Parkgate?

You don’t need a kitchen, so it works in gardens, fields and grounds without catering facilities.

Whatever you’re celebrating in Parkgate, our truck or trailer can be the centre of it. We can cater:

  • Leaving parties
  • Birthday parties
  • Engagement and anniversary parties
  • Company summer parties

Before you pencil in Newdigate Brickworks, find out who manages it: driving a truck onto parkland and selling food there both need their agreement.

Questions to ask before you book

DIY taco night versus a caterer

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles allergen information for you.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

Planning the serving area

Plenty of outdoor spaces and venues work for us, but there are a few things to check:

  • Access wide and high enough to drive in, with gates and soft lawns checked first
  • Space for a taco-bar table if you’ve chosen one
  • A flat, firm spot where the truck or trailer can stand

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before you book.

Prices and what affects them

These are the factors that matter most:

  • Timings and hours
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • How many staff you need
  • Your choice of food and drinks

Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the length of service, along with extras and where your event is. Every event gets its own quote.

Details that help

To speed things up, tell us:

  • Expected numbers
  • What power and water the site has
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • How we drive in and where we can park

The quickest way to a quote is to send us your details through our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we’ll put together a menu and price.

The menu, item by item

Salsas and guacamole

Every taco needs salsa and guacamole, and guests add as much as they like.

Street tacos are small, quick and full of flavour. They come with fresh salsas and toppings.

We take diets and allergies seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Ensure the menu has a vegan option
  • Plan somewhere covered for guests to eat if it rains
  • Collect dietary needs when guests reply

When service ends, we pack down and clear our area.
