Mexican catering in Penton Hook

Mexican catering for your event in Penton Hook

Tacos are the heart of the menu: warm tortillas with your choice of fillings, plus fresh salsas, guacamole and toppings. We can add burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas. On the menu are quesadillas, a build-your-own taco bar and tacos, which works well for leaving dos and retirement parties and staff parties and office lunches.

For a rural spot like Penton Hook, fields and drives need a little planning: gate widths, soft ground and the distance from the road all matter. Power and water may be limited, so we confirm the arrangements with you. We arrive ready to serve, and clear our own area when service is finished.

Should I do it myself?

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

Comparing your options

A drop-off platter is easy, but nobody remembers it. Live service from a truck or trailer gives guests hot food and something to talk about. A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, because it needs no venue kitchen. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Working with your venue

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

Penton Hook questions

Could you serve in Penton Park?

Only with permission from whoever runs the park, often the council. Ask them first, and we’ll help with the information they need from us.

Do you cater in villages like Penton Hook?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Do you need power and water?

Let us know what’s available on site, such as a supply from the venue near where we’ll park, and we’ll confirm the arrangements with your quote.

How big an event can you cater?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but our truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Tell us your numbers and we will advise.

Do you cater for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free guests?

We plan carefully for diets and keep options separate, but we cannot promise a kitchen without traces of any allergen. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.

What can we choose from?

Tacos and taco bars, plus burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas. Our sample menu has more detail.

Do you provide plates and napkins?

That’s confirmed with each quote. Tell us whether your venue has crockery or you’d prefer disposables and we will talk it through.

What is mobile Mexican catering?

We arrive with our own mobile kitchen. We set up, serve your guests and clear away when service ends.

Space, access and the venue

We serve from a truck or trailer, so the spot needs a little planning. Here’s what we look for:

  • Room for a queue in front of the serving hatch
  • Power and water, which we confirm with you for each booking
  • A flat, firm spot where the truck or trailer can stand

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.

Step by step

We need a level, firm spot we can drive the truck or trailer onto, with power and water arrangements agreed beforehand. A picture of the space helps. A December event in Penton Hook will be in the dark from about 3:55pm, so choose a spot where guests can see what they’re ordering. In late June, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:20pm.

  1. First, send us your date, venue, numbers and any diets we should know about.
  2. You get a suggested menu, with fillings agreed with you, and a quote.
  3. Before the day, we agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
  4. On the day, we set up and serve from the truck or trailer, or from a taco-bar station.
  5. Once everyone has eaten, we tidy our serving area and head off.

Before we arrive

  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in
  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat

  • Food, drinks or both
  • The menu you choose

Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you can choose what you need.

  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • The date and time of the event
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • What you’d like on the menu

It is easy to get a price: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We’ll come back with a clear quote and a suggested menu.

Diets, allergies and planning

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because options can be kept separate. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Add a dietary question to your RSVP
  • Count children separately
  • Let us know if a guest is coeliac
  • Think about cover for guests in wet weather

Food is served from the hatch, order by order, so it’s hot when it reaches them.

Ask us about plates, cutlery and serving staff and we will set out what we can do in your quote.
