How to compare caterers

About our Mexican catering in Pimlico

Food from a truck or trailer feels relaxed. People wander up, order at the hatch and head off with hot food, which suits informal events. At office lunches and team days and garden parties, we’ll put together a menu of tacos, burrito bowls and a build-your-own taco bar and more.

In Pimlico, a courtyard, a venue forecourt or a garden with drive access can work well. London gardens are often reached only through the house, so the truck or trailer may need to stay on a drive or the street, with permission. Send us a photo of the access. We serve from the hatch of our food truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

Can I do a taco night myself?

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it is more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: see how many tacos per person. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

How it compares

A cold buffet is simple but tends to sit out for hours. Our food is served hot, one order at a time. What’s on the menu makes a difference to the total, so tell us what you have in mind. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

Why book with us

  • Everything served fresh from the hatch
  • Allergen-aware menus
  • Quoted for your event
  • Tacos, burritos and a drinks bar

Diets, allergies and planning

We cater for vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free guests. To make it work smoothly:

  • Guests with serious allergies should speak to us in advance
  • Put any allergies in writing for us
  • Check that your venue allows outside caterers and vehicles
  • Ensure the menu has a vegan option

We can still serve from the hatch if it rains, but guests will need somewhere covered to eat.

Margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas can be added from our drinks bar.

FAQs for Pimlico

Is parking a problem for events in Pimlico?

That depends on the street. A drive, a courtyard or a bay suspended by the council can all work, so tell us what’s outside your venue. The ULEZ covers all of Greater London.

Is it possible to have you in Pimlico Gardens?

Only if the landowner, often the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we’ll help with the information they need from us.

Can you do gluten-free food?

We can, using corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, but some fillings, sauces and toppings may not be, so we check every dish and give allergen information.

Can we add a bar?

Yes. The drinks bar offers margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and alcohol-free drinks. Licensing is checked with you first.

Do you do a taco bar?

Yes. A build-your-own taco bar can be served from the truck or a serving station, with fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings.

How long are you on site?

It depends on your event. We agree arrival, service and pack-down times with you to suit your day.

Do you cater for big events?

Truck and trailer service typically suits around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case.

How spicy is the food?

We can keep it mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

The process

On the day, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. Service starts at the time we’ve agreed, planned around your event. In Pimlico, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening events are generally served in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 3:55pm, plan lighting where guests queue and eat.

  1. Share the date, the venue and how many are coming.
  2. We plan a menu that covers every diet.
  3. We confirm the way in and where we will park.
  4. Guests order at the hatch or build their own at the taco bar.
  5. We clear our serving area when everyone is fed.

Planning help

Before you choose a spot

No two venues are the same, so we ask about the space when you contact us. In general, we need:

  • Some distance from houses and neighbours
  • A clear area in front of the hatch for a queue
  • Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer

London streets around Pimlico can be narrow and busy, and all of Greater London sits inside the ULEZ. Tell us about loading, permits and any parking suspension when you enquire.

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before you book.
