Planning a food truck in Southfields

Southfields is about 2 miles north-east of Wimbledon, in Greater London. Whether your event is in the middle of Southfields or on the outskirts, Mexican catering works the same way: fresh service from our food truck or trailer, every diet planned for and a clear quote. We serve in 764 places across Greater London. Our truck and trailer cover the area from Southfields to London (6 miles away).

Historic houses near Southfields include Fulham Palace (1.9 miles north-west) and Southside House (2.7 miles south-west). Venues like these often limit where vehicles can go, so ask about access before you book one. For a christening or wedding at a church such as St John the Divine, a food truck at a garden or venue nearby is an easy way to feed everyone.

Here we cover the SW18, SW19 and SW17 postcode area, and we can cater your event anywhere in it with access for the truck or trailer. That could mean an event at a home with a drive on Burr Road, Acuba Road and Mount Road. For events just outside Southfields, we cover Earlsfield (1 mile south-east), Wandsworth (1 mile north), Summerstown (1 mile south), Battersea (2 miles north-east) and Clapham Junction (2 miles north-east). We also cater in nearby towns such as London (6 miles north-east), City of Westminster (5 miles north), Marylebone (5 miles north), Kensington (4 miles north), St Pancras (6 miles north-east) and Shoreditch (7 miles north-east).

Well-known places in the area include Southside Wandsworth (0.6 miles north) and Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum (1.2 miles south-west). The countryside around Southfields includes Henman Hill and Wandle Meadow Nature Park.

  • Nearby schools include Southfields Academy (under half a mile south-west) and Wandsworth School (0.7 miles west)
  • Pubs nearby include Old Sergeant pub (under half a mile north)
  • Local facilities include St Leonard's (2.9 miles south-east)

Working with your venue

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

For larger events, we plan serving points around your timings, so everyone is served promptly. Let us know how long the break is.

Space, access and the venue

Every venue is different, so we ask about the space before we confirm. Generally, we look for:

  • Agreement from the venue to bring a food truck or trailer on site
  • Clear vehicle access: gate widths, height limits and the ground checked before the day
  • Power and water, which we confirm with you for each booking

In Southfields, as everywhere in Greater London, the ULEZ applies and kerb space is limited. Where will the truck or trailer stop? A drive, a courtyard or a suspended bay can all work.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before booking.

What we offer

  • Burritos
  • Build-your-own taco bar
  • Quesadillas
  • Burrito bowls
  • Loaded nachos
  • Tacos

FAQs for Southfields

Can you cater a reception after a service at St John the Divine?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Where would you park in Southfields?

That depends on the street. A drive, a courtyard or a bay suspended by the council can all work, so tell us what’s outside your venue. The ULEZ covers all of Greater London.

Which areas do you serve?

We cover London and the South East, Greater London included. Find your area.

Can guests build their own tacos?

Yes, a taco bar is one of our options. Tell us about your space and numbers and we’ll suggest the best set-up.

When do you arrive?

We arrive in good time to set up before service. Serving times are agreed with you in advance.

What do you need at the venue?

Access and level ground matter most: a level spot to park, space for guests to queue and a little room for a serving table. Send us a photo and tell us about gates, slopes and soft ground.

What are your prices?

There’s no fixed price list, as each event is different. Tell us your numbers and plans and we will send a quote for your event.

What do you serve?

Every menu is agreed with you. Fillings could include chicken tinga, pork carnitas, al pastor-style pork and vegan options like black beans. Our sample menu has more ideas.

How it works

Expect a friendly, organised team. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, get the serving area ready, and get on with serving. Evenings in Southfields stay light until about 9:20pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:05pm. For anything running past sunset, think about lights near the hatch.

  1. You tell us the date, the venue, rough guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. We suggest a sample menu and send a quote for your event.
  3. We check access, power and water with you or the venue.
  4. On the day, we set up and serve from the truck or trailer, or from a taco-bar station.
  5. When service ends, we pack down and clear our area.

Getting ready for the day

  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Ask the venue about power and water

Prices and what affects them

Each event is quoted on its own, based on a few main things:

  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • What the venue already provides
  • The menu you choose

Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the length of service, plus any add-ons and the location. Every event gets its own quote.

What we need to know

Here’s what makes a quick, accurate quote possible:

  • Expected numbers
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • A picture of where we’d park

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll check availability at the same time.

Diets, allergies and planning

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because guests can choose what suits them. A few tips:

  • Tell us what other food is being served
  • Ask guests about diets and allergies with your invitations
  • Guests with serious allergies should speak to us in advance
  • Tell us how many children are coming

Once everyone has eaten, we tidy up and pack away.

Burrito bowls are a good choice for anyone avoiding tortillas.

Should I do it myself?

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

Who books Mexican catering in Southfields?

Mixed diets are easy to plan for, because guests choose their own fillings and toppings. Vegetarian and vegan guests get a proper meal, not an afterthought.

Whatever you are celebrating in Southfields, our food truck or trailer can be the centre of it. We are happy to cater:

  • Weddings, day or evening
  • Fundraisers and school events
  • Staff parties and office lunches
  • Milestone birthdays

A gathering in King George's Park would need the park owner’s say-so for any catering vehicle, and that is worth sorting out early.

What your quote should include

  • How dietary needs and allergies are handled
  • Plates and napkins, or nothing at all
  • When payment is due
  • How bad weather is handled
