Mexican catering in Stede Quarter, served fresh

Every menu is agreed with you, so fillings might include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga or beef birria, and vegan options like spiced mushrooms or black beans. It suits wedding breakfasts and evening food and summer garden parties, with loaded nachos, burrito bowls and burritos.

Somewhere as small as Stede Quarter, a garden or field is often the venue. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives and we will plan for them, and firm ground matters, especially after rain. You can book food, drinks or both, so one caterer can cover more of the day.

What’s on the menu

Loaded nachos

Loaded nachos are perfect for sharing, whether as a starter or a late bite. We can plan a dairy-free version.

Salsas and guacamole

Salsas and guacamole, made fresh for your event, with lime and fresh toppings.

Planners, venues and businesses

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.

For big numbers, we plan service to keep queues short, so guests are looked after quickly. Tell us how long you have for food and drinks.

Can I do a taco night myself?

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, with allergen information for every dish.

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

The process

A typical event goes like this: we park up and get ready, we open the hatch when you are ready, and your guests are served fresh until service ends. Evenings in Stede Quarter stay light until about 9:15pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:00pm. For anything running past sunset, think about lights near the hatch.

  1. Share the date, the venue and how many are coming.
  2. We plan a menu that covers every diet.
  3. We check the route in and where the truck or trailer will stand.
  4. Guests order at the hatch or build their own at the taco bar.
  5. After the last serving, we clear our area.

Getting ready for the day

  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site
  • Ask the venue about power and water
  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough

Dietary needs and planning tips

Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Put any allergies in writing for us
  • Tell us what other food is being served
  • Include at least one vegan filling
  • Flag anyone with coeliac disease

We can still serve from the hatch if it rains, but guests will need somewhere covered to eat.

Burrito bowls suit guests who’d rather skip the tortilla, and they’re easy to adapt for different diets.

Why choose Mexican catering in Stede Quarter?

A drop-off platter is easy, but nobody remembers it. Live service from a truck or trailer gives guests hot food and something to talk about. The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Why us?

  • Menus for vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free guests
  • Fast service, even with a queue
  • Events in Stede Quarter and across Kent
  • A menu built around your guests

Stede Quarter questions

Can you bring a truck or trailer to venues in the High Weald National Landscape?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

Is it possible to have you in Wattle Wood?

Only if the landowner, often the council, allows it. Check with them, and we will provide what they ask for from us.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, made with corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can talk through how their food is prepared. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

Do you have dairy-free options?

Yes, we can. Let us know your dairy-free numbers, and we will plan the menu around them.

Do you take everything away?

We clear our own area when service is finished. For anything beyond that, such as guests’ tables, ask us.

How many guests can you cater for?

Truck and trailer service typically suits around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case.

How long do you serve for?

We arrive in good time to set up before service. The length of service is agreed when you book, along with pack-down.

Do you do a taco bar?

Yes, a taco bar is one of our options. Tell us about your space and numbers and we’ll suggest the best set-up.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
