Mexican bar hire in Stede Quarter, from our food truck or trailer

Soft drinks and alcohol-free choices are always part of the bar, so drivers and non-drinkers are not left with tap water. It suits summer garden parties and end-of-year and Christmas parties, with agua de jamaica, alcohol-free drinks and margaritas.

In a rural spot like Stede Quarter, drinks can be served from our truck or trailer in a garden, field or by a marquee, as long as we can get in. Licensing for alcohol is checked with you beforehand. You can book food, drinks or both, so one caterer can cover more of the day.

Tips for a smooth bar

Some planning tips for the drinks:

  • Think about how guests get home
  • Serve food alongside the drinks
  • Ask your venue about its licence early
  • Check allergies with guests, including for drinks

Bar staff serve for the agreed times, and keep the bar tidy.

Tell us what glassware you need and we’ll confirm the options with your quote.

What happens on the day

Expect a friendly, organised team. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, get the serving area ready, and get on with serving. A summer drinks reception in Stede Quarter has daylight until about 9:15pm at midsummer, so evening drinks can be served in daylight. By late September, sunset is about 7:00pm, and in December it’s dark by about 3:50pm, so plan lighting around the bar.

  1. Tell us your date, venue and numbers.
  2. We go through the licensing with you.
  3. You choose the drinks with us.
  4. We serve drinks responsibly on the day.
  5. We clear the bar at the end.

Preparing for the day

  • Tell us what power and water the site has
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day
  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer

Organising for someone else?

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: where vehicles can park, access times and the paperwork they need. Tell us what your venue needs and we’ll work to it.

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you are a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Questions from Stede Quarter

Do you cater in the High Weald National Landscape?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

Do you come out to small places like Stede Quarter?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

What if the weather’s bad?

The truck or trailer can serve in the rain, but your guests will want somewhere covered, like a marquee or gazebo.

How much is the bar?

We do not publish set prices, because every event is different. Send your details for a quote.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

Please ask us. Let us know what you already have, and we will set out plates, napkins and cutlery in your quote.

Do you cook on site?

We cook to order in our food truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Slow-cooked fillings are prepared in advance and kept hot on site.

Do you cover Stede Quarter?

We do. We serve at events in Stede Quarter and across Kent. Tell us your date and we’ll check availability.

Can you do gluten-free food?

We can, using corn tortillas. Corn is naturally gluten-free, though some sauces and toppings can contain gluten, so we plan gluten-free dishes carefully and give allergen information.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it is more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Read our guide to taco bars.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Prices and what affects them

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Guest numbers

The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.

Getting an accurate quote

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:

  • The address or venue name
  • What power and water the site has
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
