Mobile Mexican catering means the kitchen comes to you: our truck or trailer parks at your venue and we serve hot food straight from the hatch. No kitchen is needed on site. For garden parties and birthday parties, we’ll put together a menu of loaded nachos, burrito bowls and quesadillas and more.

A place like Theale may have a hall or a club with a car park nearby; any can work, given permission and level ground to park on. Timings are planned around your event, so service starts when you want it.

How it works

The truck or trailer needs a level, firm spot with access to drive in, and we agree power and water arrangements before the day. A picture of the space helps. In Theale, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so summer evening events are typically served in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. Begin with the date, the place and the numbers.
  2. We come back with menu ideas and a quote.
  3. Nearer the date, we go over the final plan.
  4. At the agreed time, service starts from the truck or trailer.
  5. We pack away when service is over.

How to prepare

Organising for someone else?

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can check the date.

Catering for every guest

Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Put any allergies in writing for us
  • Let us know if a guest is coeliac
  • Let us know about any other food at the event
  • Tell us how many children are coming

For a taco bar, we lay the fillings, salsas and toppings out on a table, and guests help themselves.

Ask about extra salsas and toppings for a bigger spread.

Is Mexican catering right for your event?

A cold buffet is simple but tends to sit out for hours. Tacos and burritos are made to order and served hot. Pricing depends on the event. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Your quote sets it all out.

Why us?

  • Served fresh from our truck or trailer
  • Tacos, burritos and a drinks bar
  • Allergen information for everything we serve
  • A plan agreed before the day

Take a look at our prices page and the cost guide.

Can I do a taco night myself?

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

Events we cater in Theale

Guests enjoy building their own plate, and a taco bar soon becomes a talking point while they queue.

If you are planning any of these, we can help:

  • Leaving parties
  • Wedding breakfasts and evening food
  • School fairs and fundraisers
  • Big birthday celebrations

Thinking of an event in Calcot Park? Public parks typically need the landowner’s permission for a food truck, so check first.

Questions to ask before booking

FAQs for Theale

Which station is closest to Theale?

Theale has its own station: Theale station.

Is Theale close to London?

It’s about 43 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

What are your prices?

We quote for each event, depending on numbers, menu, venue and timings. Contact us for a quote.

How much space do you need?

The main things are access and a level spot: a level spot to park, space for guests to queue and a little room for a serving table. Send us a photo and tell us about gates, slopes and soft ground.

Can you serve in the rain?

Rain does not generally stop service from the truck or trailer. It is worth planning a covered area for guests, and tell us if heavy rain could make the ground soft.

When should we book?

As soon as you have a date. Peak dates go quickly, so get in touch early.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, using corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can explain how we prepare their food. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

Who clears up?

We pack down and leave our area tidy. Tell us the venue’s rules on waste and clearing up and we’ll talk it through.
