Mexican catering in Tokers Green
How it works
Once service is over, we pack up and leave our area tidy. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. From late May to late September, sunset in Tokers Green moves from about 8:55pm to 7:10pm. If your event carries on later, tell us what lighting the venue has.
- It begins with the basics: your date, venue, guest numbers and dietary needs.
- We suggest a sample menu and send a quote for your event.
- We check access, power and water with you or the venue.
- On the day, we set up and serve from the truck or trailer, or from a taco-bar station.
- Once everyone has eaten, we tidy our serving area and head off.
Getting ready for the day
- Measure any gates or arches on the way in
- Tell us when you want service to start

Mexican catering in Tokers Green, from our truck or trailer
Truck and trailer service typically suits around 50 to 400 guests. Larger festivals and smaller parties are looked at case by case, so let us know how many you expect. On the menu are loaded nachos, a build-your-own taco bar and quesadillas, and it suits engagement celebrations and wedding breakfasts and evening food.
Somewhere as small as Tokers Green, a garden or field is often the venue. Country lanes, long drives and gates are fine if we know about them, and firm ground matters, especially after rain. Timings are planned around your event, whether that is speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

Tokers Green questions
Which station should guests use for Tokers Green?
Tilehurst station, about 2.2 miles south-west of the centre.
We’re having a ceremony at Church of St John the Baptist: can you cater afterwards?
Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.
Do you need electricity?
That depends on the set-up, so we confirm power and water arrangements with each booking. Let us know whether there’s a supply near where we will park.
What do you need at the venue?
Tell us about the venue and the way in, and we will check it works. We also need room for a queue.
How big an event can you cater?
Our truck and trailer service usually suits events of around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller parties are quoted case by case, and festivals can be larger. Send us your numbers and we will advise.
What food do you serve?
We agree the menu with each client, with fillings such as carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria or spiced mushrooms. Take a look at the sample menu.
What if it rains?
The truck or trailer serves in the rain, but guests will need somewhere covered to eat.
How is the food prepared?
Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. Tortillas are warmed on site, and salsas and guacamole are made fresh.
Perfect for your event in Tokers Green
There’s no kitchen needed at the venue, so it works in gardens, fields and grounds without catering facilities.
If you’re planning any of these, we can help:
- Milestone birthdays
- Engagement celebrations
- Fundraisers and school events
- Fairs and festivals
Close to Tokers Green are historic houses such as Mapledurham House (1.9 miles west) and Greys Court (3.9 miles north-east). Venues like these often limit where vehicles can go, so ask about access before booking one.
What your quote should include
- Any travel, parking or access charges
- How each diet is kept separate
- Where to see their hygiene rating
- Space, access, power and water needs
Planning for every diet
A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:
- Ask guests about diets and allergies with your invitations
- Tell us about coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
- Ensure the menu has a vegan option
- Guests with serious allergies should speak to us in advance
If you’ve chosen a taco bar, the fillings, salsas and toppings go out on a serving table, and guests build their own while we keep it topped up.
A tray of loaded nachos works well to start.

Space, access and the venue

- A clear area in front of the hatch for a queue
- Access wide and high enough to drive in, with gates and soft lawns checked first
- A flat, firm spot where the truck or trailer can stand
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise.
