Mexican catering for Tonge Corner events

DIY taco night versus a caterer

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

Mexican catering in Tonge Corner, from our food truck or trailer

Keep it simple or go further: tacos on their own, or tacos with burritos, nachos and quesadillas. Margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas can come from our drinks bar. It suits staff parties and office lunches and garden parties, with a build-your-own taco bar, loaded nachos and tacos.

Somewhere like Tonge Corner, a field or garden is often the setting. Gates, verges and soft ground are worth mentioning when you enquire. We plan the timings around your day, so service starts when you want it.

Tonge Corner: your questions answered

How far is Tonge Corner from London?

About 39 miles from central London.

We are having a ceremony at Church of St Giles: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Tell us where the reception will be.

What’s on the menu?

Mexican street food: tacos, taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas, with salsas, guacamole and toppings. We also run a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.

Is the food made fresh?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. The tortillas are warmed on site, and the salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Do you cater for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free guests?

Diets are planned in advance, with options kept separate, though we can’t guarantee a kitchen with no trace of any allergen. Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us first.

When do you arrive?

We arrive in good time to set up before service. The length of service is agreed when you book, along with pack-down.

Can you serve in bad weather?

The truck or trailer serves in the rain, though guests need a covered place to eat.

Do you need electricity?

That depends on the set-up, and we agree power and water with you before the day. Let us know whether there is a supply near where we will park.

Planners, venues and businesses

Events in public spaces, like parks, usually need permission. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

If you’re booking for a business, tell us what your finance team needs, and we will explain how it works. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

Planning a food truck in Tonge Corner

Tonge Corner is about 2 miles east of Sittingbourne, in Kent. From the centre of Tonge Corner to the outskirts, Mexican catering works the same way: fresh service from our food truck or trailer, every diet planned for and a clear quote. We cater in 922 places across Kent, from the larger towns to small villages, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. Our truck and trailer cover the area from Tonge Corner to Canterbury (about 14 miles away).

When the service is at a church such as Church of St Giles, the food normally happens elsewhere, at a field, hall or garden with room for the truck. If people are travelling in by rail, the nearest station is Teynham station, about 1.5 miles south-east.

Here we cover the ME9 postcode area, and we can cater your event anywhere in it with access for the truck or trailer. Neighbouring places where we cater events include Tonge (1 mile north), Radfield (1 mile south), Murston (1 mile west), Milton Regis (1 mile west) and Rodmersham (2 miles south). We also cater in nearby towns such as Maidstone (12 miles south-west), Ashford (15 miles south), Canterbury (14 miles east), Whitstable (11 miles east), Faversham (5 miles south-east) and Minster (5 miles north).

Well-known places in the area include Sittingbourne and Milton Urban District (1.9 miles west) and Dolphin Sailing Barge Museum (1.4 miles west).

What to tell us

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:

  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • The date and time of the event
  • A photo of the space, if it’s a garden or field

To get a price, just drop us a line using the enquiry form. Tell us about your event in Tonge Corner, and we will put together a menu and price.

How it compares

Pizza and burger vans are familiar choices. Mexican street food stands out, yet it is still food most guests know and like. Pricing depends on the event. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Your quote sets it all out.

What you get with us

Dietary needs and planning tips

We take diets and allergies seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Add a dietary question to your RSVP
  • Mention any other caterers or courses
  • Ask guests with severe allergies to talk to us before the event
  • Ask the venue whether food trucks are allowed

We can still serve from the hatch if it rains, though guests need somewhere under cover to eat.

A tray of loaded nachos works well to start.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
