Mexican catering for Watermill events

About our Mexican catering in Watermill

Every menu is agreed with you, so fillings might include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga or beef birria, and vegan options like spiced mushrooms or black beans. At wedding breakfasts and evening food and company summer parties, we will put together a menu of quesadillas, burritos and a build-your-own taco bar.

Somewhere like Watermill, a field or garden is often the setting. Mention gates and soft ground when you get in touch. Your quote sets out what’s included: the menu, the service time and any extras you choose.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

Organising for someone else?

Hosting a party at home? Send us a photo of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we will tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.

For big numbers, we plan service to keep queues short, so guests are looked after quickly. Tell us how long you have for food and drinks.

Diets, allergies and planning

We cater for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests. To get it right:

  • Put any allergies in writing for us
  • Ask guests about diets and allergies with your invitations
  • Think about cover for guests in wet weather
  • Ensure the menu has a vegan option

For a taco bar, we lay the fillings, salsas and toppings out on a table, and guests help themselves while we keep it topped up.

Burrito bowls suit guests who’d rather skip the tortilla.

How it compares

A cold buffet is simple but tends to sit out for hours. Tacos and burritos are made to order and served hot. Access, parking and the distance to your venue can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. The full price is confirmed in your quote.

Why us?

  • We cover Watermill and the whole of East Sussex
  • A menu agreed with you
  • A quote that sets out what’s included
  • Allergen-aware menus

Step by step

The truck or trailer tends to draw a crowd, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. Rain doesn’t usually stop us serving, but guests will need somewhere covered. In Watermill, the sun sets at about 9:15pm in late June and about 7:00pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. First, send us your date, venue, numbers and any diets we should know about.
  2. We put together a menu around your guests and quote for it.
  3. Before the day, we agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
  4. On the day we arrive, set up and serve hot food from our truck or trailer.
  5. After service, we clear away and leave the spot tidy.

How to prepare

  • Let us know who to talk to on the day
  • Tell us what power and water the site has
  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely

How to get a price

What affects the price in Watermill

Contact us for a quote, which reflects:

  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • What the venue already provides
  • How many staff you need

Larger events can cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.

Details that help

These details help us quote quickly:

  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • The date and time of the event
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • What you’d like on the menu

Every quote is put together for your event. Tell us your date and guest numbers, and we will confirm whether we’re available that day.

Build-your-own taco bar

Fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings laid out for guests to help themselves, with tortillas kept warm. Everyone builds their own.

Catering an event in Watermill

Watermill is about 2 miles north of Bexhill-on-Sea, in East Sussex. For Mexican catering in Watermill, we plan around your venue and timings: a clear quote, agreed timings and fresh service on the day. Watermill is one of 289 places in East Sussex where we can bring Mexican catering. Our truck and trailer cover the area from Watermill to Brighton (26 miles away).

A gathering in Highwoods would need the park owner’s say-so for any catering vehicle, and that is worth sorting out early. If you’re organising a summer fair for a school like Bexhill High Academy, a taco truck can be a crowd-pleaser. The coast is within about 6 miles of Watermill, so for a seaside event we plan around the wind. The truck or trailer needs firm ground rather than sand or shingle, and seafront spots normally need permission from the council or landowner.

Here we cover the TN39 postcode area. If your venue is just outside Watermill, we also cover Lunsford's Cross (1 mile west), Sidley (1 mile south), Catsfield (2 miles north), Bexhill-on-Sea (2 miles south) and Ninfield (2 miles north-west). We also cater in nearby towns such as Eastbourne (10 miles south-west), Hastings (4 miles east), Hailsham (9 miles west), St Leonards (4 miles east), Polegate (10 miles west) and Hastings Old Town (6 miles east).

Nearby you’ll also find Bexhill Costume And Social History Museum (2.3 miles south) and Bexhill Hospital (1.8 miles south). The countryside around Watermill includes Senlac Hill and Gillham Wood.

Questions from Watermill

Could you serve in Highwoods?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

Do you cater in villages like Watermill?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes, they’re part of the planning from the start. Tell us your numbers when you ask for a quote, and we will keep their options separate.

What can we choose from?

We agree the menu with each client, with fillings such as chicken tinga, carnitas or black beans. Take a look at the sample menu.

What access do you need?

Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer, and a route in it can fit through, plus the venue’s permission. Power and water arrangements are confirmed with each booking.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.

Can you cater in a back garden?

Yes, if the truck or trailer can get in and park on level, firm ground. Tell us about the drive, gates and any slopes, and we will tell you honestly whether it works.

When should we book?

As soon as you have a date. Popular dates go first, so get in touch early.

Before you choose a spot

Before the day, we’ll agree where we park and serve. A good spot ticks these boxes:

  • A sensible distance from buildings and neighbours
  • Space for guests to queue
  • Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly before booking.
