Mexican catering for your event in Woosehill

Few things get guests chatting like a build-your-own taco bar. Guests fill their own tortillas from the fillings, salsas and toppings, so each plate is exactly how they like it. At anniversaries and engagements and christenings and family parties, we can serve a build-your-own taco bar, quesadillas and tacos for your guests.

Around Woosehill, events are often in gardens, fields, local halls or nearby venues. If the road in is narrow or the ground is soft, tell us so we can plan for the truck or trailer. Timings are planned around your event, so service starts when you want it.

Perfect for your event in Woosehill

Tacos and burritos go down well with most crowds: it’s familiar, filling and easy to eat standing up or sitting down.

These are some of the occasions we serve in Woosehill and Wokingham:

  • Fundraisers and school events
  • Company summer parties
  • Weddings and evening receptions
  • Engagement celebrations

A school such as Windmill Primary School running a summer fair or fundraiser could book a taco truck.

Choosing a Mexican caterer

What’s on the menu

Build-your-own taco bar

The taco bar keeps things sociable, and it makes mixed diets easy.

Tacos

Warm tortillas with a choice of fillings, topped with salsa and fresh toppings. Fillings are agreed with you, such as carnitas, chicken tinga or spiced mushrooms.

Can I do a taco night myself?

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

Is Mexican catering right for your event?

A plated meal needs a kitchen and a larger team. A food truck or trailer is its own kitchen, so we need a suitable spot, access and the venue’s permission, with power and water confirmed when you book. Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: serving hours, staff, disposables, travel and VAT. Contact us for a quote and we’ll set out what’s included.

Woosehill questions

How far is Woosehill from London?

About 33 miles from central London.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Woosehill Community Church?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Can guests build their own tacos?

Yes. We can set up a build-your-own taco bar, served from the truck or a serving table, with fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings.

How much will it cost?

There’s no fixed price list, as each event is different. Tell us your numbers and plans and we will send a quote for your event.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, made with corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can explain how we prepare their food.

Do you have options for kids?

Of course. We can keep dishes mild, and simple options such as quesadillas or nachos can be part of the menu. Tell us how many children are coming.

What can we choose from?

We agree the menu with each client, with fillings such as carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria or spiced mushrooms. Take a look at the sample menu.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes. The drinks bar can be added to food or booked on its own, with alcohol-free options such as aguas frescas. We will check the licensing for alcohol with you.

Planning for every diet

With a little notice, most diets are easy. We suggest:

  • Send allergy details to us in writing
  • Put guests with severe allergies in touch with us early
  • Think about cover for guests in wet weather
  • Count children separately

If you’ve chosen a taco bar, the fillings, salsas and toppings go out on a serving table, and guests build their own while we keep it topped up.

Ask about extra salsas and toppings for a bigger spread.

Step by step

We get there well before you want to serve, set up the truck or trailer and get everything ready. Guests come up to order when service opens. In Woosehill, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening events are generally served in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm, plan lighting where guests queue and eat.

  1. You tell us the date, the venue, rough guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. We suggest a sample menu and send a quote for your event.
  3. We check access, power and water with you or the venue.
  4. On the day, we set up and serve from the truck or trailer, or from a taco-bar station.
  5. After service, we clear away and leave the spot tidy.

  • A spot for a taco-bar serving table
  • Access wide and high enough to drive in, with gates and soft lawns checked first
  • Power and water, which we confirm with you for each booking

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise.
