How to compare caterers

Mexican bar hire in Barnsbury, from our food truck or trailer

Cold Mexican lagers come with lime on the side, and it pairs well with tacos. At staff parties and client events and launches, we’ll put together a menu of soft drinks, agua de jamaica and horchata.

A Mexican drinks bar works well for receptions and parties in Barnsbury. As with any London event, parking and loading need planning, and all of Greater London is inside the ULEZ. If alcohol is being served, we’ll talk licensing through with you and your venue. We will check the space, access and power with you before the day, so there are no surprises on arrival.

Working with your venue

For larger events, we plan serving points around your timings, so everyone is served promptly. Let us know how long the break is.

If you’re organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’re happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It keeps things simple.

Questions from Barnsbury

Can you cater a reception after a service at Former Church of St Clement?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Could you serve in Bingfield Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

How long do you serve for?

That depends on your event and menu. We agree arrival, service and pack-down times with you to suit your day.

Can you cater in a back garden?

That depends on access. If the truck or trailer can’t reach the garden, a drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission. Tell us about the space and we will advise.

What food and drinks do you offer?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings might include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria and vegan options such as spiced mushrooms or black beans. Our sample menu has more ideas.

Can we have a build-your-own taco bar?

We can. A build-your-own taco bar can be served from the truck or a serving station, with fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings.

What about power on site?

Tell us what the site has, for instance a supply from the venue, and we’ll confirm the arrangements with your quote.

Do you bring staff to serve the drinks?

Yes, our bar staff serve your guests. Responsible serving comes first.

The process

When service finishes, we pack up and leave our area tidy. Set-up and pack-down times are agreed with you and the venue. Winter receptions in Barnsbury are dark by about 3:55pm in December, so an outdoor bar needs lighting from the start. Midsummer is the opposite, with daylight until about 9:20pm.

  1. We check availability.
  2. You get a suggested drinks list.
  3. We agree where the bar goes.
  4. We set up and serve on cue.
  5. We tidy up at the end.

Preparing for the day

  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site
  • Let us know the timings for the day

Before you choose a spot

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We look for:

  • A premises licence or a Temporary Event Notice in place
  • A bar spot away from homes
  • Details of power and water on site

In Barnsbury, as everywhere in Greater London, the ULEZ applies and kerb space is limited. Where will the truck or trailer stop? A drive, a courtyard or a suspended bay can all work.

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.

On the menu in Barnsbury

Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you can choose what you need.

  • A photo of the space, if it’s a garden or field
  • What you’d like on the menu
  • The date and time of the event
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground

Send us the date, your venue or N1 postcode and guest numbers, plus any dietary needs, and you will get menu ideas and a price. To get started, tell us about it on our contact page.
