Choosing a Mexican caterer

How our Mexican bar hire works in Broad Oak

Mexican beer is served cold, with a wedge of lime if guests like. It works well for birthday parties and wedding receptions and evening parties, with aguas frescas, soft drinks and Mexican beer.

In a rural spot like Broad Oak, drinks can be served from our truck or trailer in a garden, field or by a marquee, as long as we can get in. We’ll check the licensing with you. We prepare everything fresh for your event and serve it straight from our truck or trailer.

Mexican bar hire or something else?

Bring-your-own is simple but uneven. A bar gives every guest a drink in hand, including non-drinkers. The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

Prices and what affects them

Every event is priced individually, based on a few main things:

  • Timings and hours
  • How many staff you need
  • How many guests we’re serving
  • Food, drinks or both

If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we’ll suggest a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Getting an accurate quote

Good planning starts with a few facts. Try to include:

  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • The date and time of the event
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • Expected numbers

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, plus any dietary needs, and we will reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. To get started, use our quote form.

The process

When service finishes, we pack down and clear our own area. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. In December, the light goes in Broad Oak at about 3:55pm, so plan where guests will gather, and how it will be lit. Midsummer is the opposite, with daylight until about 9:15pm.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and what you’d like to serve.
  2. We talk through licensing with you, whether that is the venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice.
  3. You get a suggested drinks menu and a quote.
  4. On the day, our bar staff serve drinks responsibly at the agreed times.
  5. We pack away when the bar shuts and leave the area tidy.

Preparing for the day

  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Ask the venue about power and water

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles allergen information for you.
