How we price Mexican bar hire

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • How many staff you need
  • Food, drinks or both
  • How many guests we’re serving
  • Parking and the route in

There is no one-size-fits-all price for Mexican bar hire. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Your quote sets it all out.

What we need to know

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • A picture of the space, if it’s a garden or field
  • The venue or postcode
  • The date and time of the event
  • Expected numbers

We need only a few details to quote: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. Contact us for a quote: just fill in our quote form.

Planning a drinks bar in Colbury

Colbury is about 1 mile south of Totton, in Hampshire. For Mexican bar hire in Colbury, we can park up at venues, fields, drives and courtyards in and around Colbury. Colbury is one of 683 places in Hampshire where we can bring Mexican bar hire.

A drinks bar at a garden or hall near a church like Colbury Christ Church gives guests something to enjoy while photos are taken. Nearby historic houses include Southampton Tudor House and Garden (4.3 miles east) and Medieval Merchant's House (4.4 miles east). Grand houses and estates tend to have firm rules on alcohol and outside bars, so raise the drinks bar with them early. An outdoor bar near the New Forest National Park, within about 4 miles of Colbury, needs firm ground and a way in, plus the right licensing, which we’ll check with you. The coast is within about 5 miles, close enough for drinks by the sea. Seafront spots generally need permission, especially for alcohol, and the truck or trailer needs firm ground.

Anywhere in SO40, we can bring the truck or trailer to your guests, from busy streets to quiet lanes. For events just outside Colbury, we cover Ashurst (1 mile west), Lyndhurst (4 miles south-west), Emery Down (4 miles south-west), Balmerlawn (6 miles south-west) and Brockenhurst (6 miles south-west). We also cater in nearby towns such as Winchester (14 miles north-east), Eastleigh (8 miles north-east), Fareham (14 miles east), Chandler's Ford (8 miles north-east), Hedge End (9 miles east) and Lymington (10 miles south).

Questions from Colbury

Can you bring a truck or trailer to venues in the New Forest National Park?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and catering, so check with yours. We’ll follow the site rules.

What’s the nearest station to Colbury for guests?

Guests can use Ashurst New Forest station, about 1.2 miles south-west of Colbury.

Can guests build their own tacos?

Yes, a taco bar is one of our options. Let us know your numbers and space and we will suggest the best set-up.

Can you serve in the rain?

Rain doesn’t generally stop service from the truck or trailer. Plan cover for guests, such as a marquee or gazebo, and tell us if heavy rain could make the ground soft.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. UK law requires caterers to provide information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

That is confirmed with each quote. Let us know what the venue supplies and we’ll talk it through.

Do you cook on site?

Food is cooked to order in our truck or trailer, or served from a build-your-own taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.

Where do you cater?

We cater across London and the South East, including Hampshire. Find your area.

What we need at the venue

Before the day, we will agree where we park and serve. A good spot ticks these boxes:

  • A spot away from neighbours’ windows if the bar runs late
  • Firm, level ground where we can set up
  • Agreement from the venue for our bar

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.

Menu ideas

  • Agua de jamaica (hibiscus)
  • Margaritas
  • Fruit aguas frescas
  • Mexican beer
  • Soft drinks

Organising for someone else?

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: where vehicles can park, access times and the paperwork they need. Tell us what your venue needs and we’ll work to it.

Comparing your options

Leaving guests to bring their own is easy but unpredictable. A staffed bar means everyone is served. The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

About the menu

Agua de jamaica

Hibiscus water, sweet and tart.

Tamarind and fruit waters

A light drink for hot days.

How it works

Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we’ll help you choose a spot with room for a queue. Rain doesn’t generally stop us serving, though guests will want somewhere covered to stand or sit. At midsummer, it is light in Colbury until about 9:25pm, so evening drinks can be served in daylight. By late September, sunset is about 7:10pm, and in December it is dark by about 4:00pm, so plan lighting around the bar.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and what you’d like to serve.
  2. We talk licensing through with you: the venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice.
  3. You get a suggested drinks menu and a quote.
  4. On the day we set up the bar and our bar staff serve your guests.
  5. After service, we clear the bar away.
