The process

When service finishes, we pack down and clear our own area. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. In December, the light goes in Freemantle at about 4:00pm, so plan where guests will gather, and how it will be lit. Midsummer is the opposite, with daylight until about 9:25pm.

  1. Send us your date, venue, numbers and drinks ideas.
  2. We go through the licensing with you: the venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice.
  3. You get a suggested drinks menu and a quote.
  4. We arrive, set up and serve margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.
  5. After service, we clear the bar away.

Can I do a taco night myself?

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Your questions about Mexican bar hire in Freemantle

Could you come to a seaside event near Freemantle?

We can, given firm ground and the landowner’s permission. Beaches and promenades generally need the council’s agreement, so check that first.

Could you serve in Blechynden Terrace Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

How many guests can you serve?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. Tell us your numbers and we’ll advise.

Do you do drinks only?

Yes, though it pairs well with tacos. Ask about adding tacos and burritos.

Do you have alcohol-free drinks?

There are always alcohol-free options, including aguas frescas and soft drinks.

Do you have a licence to sell alcohol?

You will need either the venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice. We will talk licensing through with you. GOV.UK explains Temporary Event Notices.

Can you come to a private house?

Yes, as long as there is access and a level, firm spot. Tell us about the drive, gates and any slopes, and we’ll tell you honestly whether it works.

Do you provide bar staff?

We bring bar staff.

For planners, venues and organisers

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we’ll work to it.

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.

Drinks planning tips

To get the most from the bar, it helps to:

  • Plan water alongside the bar
  • Check how alcohol will be licensed at your venue
  • Make sure drivers have good choices
  • Agree bar timings in advance

We arrive in good time to set up the bar.

Planning a drinks bar in Freemantle

Freemantle is about 1 mile west of Southampton, in Southampton. From the centre of Freemantle to the outskirts, Mexican bar hire works the same way: fresh service from our food truck or trailer, every diet planned for and a clear quote. We cater in all 40 towns and villages across Southampton.

Around Freemantle, historic houses include Southampton Tudor House and Garden (1.2 miles south-east) and Medieval Merchant's House (1.3 miles south-east). Many listed venues control who serves drinks on their premises, so ask yours what it allows. Guests travelling by rail: Millbrook (Hants) station is in Freemantle itself. An outdoor bar near the New Forest National Park, within about 7 miles of Freemantle, needs firm ground and a way in, plus the right licensing, which we will check with you. The coast is within about 2 miles of Freemantle. Wind, sand and the rules on alcohol in public places all need planning for a seaside bar.

This part of Southampton takes in SO15, SO16 and SO17. From May Road, Park Road and Pitt Road or anywhere nearby, we’ll plan where to park and serve. You’ll find Freemantle on the A33, which makes it straightforward to bring the truck or trailer. Is Mexican bar hire right for your event?

Bring-your-own is simple but uneven. A staffed bar means everyone is served. There is no one-size-fits-all price for Mexican bar hire. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Your quote sets it all out.
