About our Mexican bar hire in Freshwater

Aguas frescas are Mexico’s fresh fruit and flower drinks: agua de jamaica made with hibiscus, horchata, tamarind and fruit waters. They’re a good alcohol-free choice for everyone. For fairs and community events and end-of-year parties, we can serve aguas frescas, Mexican beer and agua de jamaica for your guests.

In Freshwater, a drinks bar works at home or in a local hall, with access for the truck or trailer. Aguas frescas and soft drinks cover guests who are not drinking alcohol. We serve from the hatch of our truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan the service around your numbers.

What we need at the venue

Before the day, we’ll agree where we park and serve. A good spot ticks these boxes:

  • Agreement from the venue for our bar
  • Details of power and water on site
  • Licensing checked with you before the day

For somewhere as remote as Freshwater, early notice helps us plan the trip, the route in and power.

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.

What we offer

What happens on the day

Expect a friendly, organised team. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, set up our truck or trailer, and serve without fuss. In December, the light goes in Freshwater at about 4:05pm, so plan where guests will gather, and how it will be lit. Midsummer is the opposite, with daylight until about 9:20pm.

  1. You tell us the date, venue, guest numbers and the drinks you have in mind.
  2. We check the licensing with you: the venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice.
  3. We put together a drinks menu, with alcohol-free choices, and quote for it.
  4. On the day, our bar staff serve drinks responsibly at the agreed times.
  5. After service, we clear the bar away.

Common questions in Freshwater

Can you cater a reception after a service at All Saints' Church?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Do you cater at coastal events near Freshwater?

Yes, as long as the site allows it and the ground is firm. Wind, sand and seafront permissions are the main things to plan on the coast.

How soon do we need to book?

The sooner the better. Popular dates go first, so contact us early.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

Ask us when you enquire. Let us know what you already have, and we’ll confirm what’s included with your quote.

Can you come to a private house?

Yes, if the truck or trailer can get in and park on level, firm ground. Send us a picture of the access and the space, and we’ll tell you honestly whether it works.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes, we run a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Your venue or event may need the right licence for alcohol, so we will go through the licensing with you.

What areas do you cover?

We cover London and the South East, the Isle of Wight included. Find your area.

How long are you on site?

We arrive in good time to set up before service. The length of service is agreed when you book, along with pack-down.

What affects the price in Freshwater

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:

  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • Timings and hours
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Serving staff

Larger events can cost less per head, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.
