How our Mexican bar hire works in Great Haseley

Margaritas are the centrepiece: tequila, lime and orange liqueur over ice, with or without a salted rim. On the menu are agua de jamaica, aguas frescas and soft drinks, which works well for weddings, day or evening and taco nights and themed parties.

In a rural spot like Great Haseley, drinks can be served from our food truck or trailer in a garden, field or by a marquee, as long as we can get in. Licensing for alcohol is checked with you beforehand. We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests, and we give allergen information for every dish.

How we price Mexican bar hire

Your quote will be clear. The main things that affect it are:

  • The number of people
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • How long we’re needed on site
  • The menu you choose

If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we’ll suggest a menu that fits. Even a simple menu can feel generous.

Details that help

The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Try to include:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • The date and time of the event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers

Not sure what you need yet? That is fine: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we’ll make suggestions. When you’re ready, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

Great Haseley: your questions answered

Do you cater in the Chilterns National Landscape?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and catering, so check with yours. Tell us about narrow lanes and soft ground.

Do you come out to small places like Great Haseley?

Yes, small places are no problem, given access. Tell us about lanes, gates, ground and parking.

Is the food very hot?

It’s up to you: we can keep the main dishes mild, with hotter salsas served separately. Read more about how spicy Mexican food is.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. UK law requires caterers to provide information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

Do you have options for kids?

Yes, children are welcome. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we will plan the menu with them in mind.

Can you serve in the rain?

We can serve from the hatch in the rain. It is worth planning a covered area for guests, and let us know if the ground gets soft after heavy rain.

What does a Mexican bar cost?

We do not publish set prices, because every event is different. Tell us your plans for a quote.

Are plates and napkins included?

Please ask us. Let us know what you already have, and we’ll set out plates, napkins and cutlery in your quote.

Organising for someone else?

Hosting a party at home? Send a photo of the space and tell us about access, and we will let you know if it is a good fit.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We’ll provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label anything containing allergens.

How it works

Service is quick and friendly: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our area. In December, the light goes in Great Haseley at about 3:55pm, so plan where guests will gather, and how it will be lit. Midsummer is the opposite, with daylight until about 9:25pm.

  1. We check availability.
  2. You get a suggested drinks list.
  3. We agree where the bar goes.
  4. We set up and serve on cue.
  5. When the bar shuts, we clear away.

How to prepare
