Can I do a taco night myself?

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.

Organising for someone else?

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: where vehicles can park, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

If you’re booking for a business, tell us what your finance team needs, and we’ll talk you through the process. We are happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

How the day works

The truck or trailer needs a level, firm spot with access to drive in, and we agree power and water arrangements before the day. Send us a photo of the space if you are unsure. At midsummer, it is light in Old Town until about 9:20pm, ideal for drinks outdoors. By late September, sunset is about 7:05pm, and in December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so plan lighting around the bar.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and what you’d like to serve.
  2. We talk through licensing with you, whether that’s the venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice.
  3. We suggest a drinks list and send a quote.
  4. On the day we set up the bar and our bar staff serve your guests.
  5. After service, we clear the bar away.

Getting ready for the day

What we need at the venue

Plenty of outdoor spaces and venues work for us, but there are a few things to check:

  • A clear area in front of the bar
  • Somewhere to park and unload nearby
  • A flat, firm spot for the bar

In Old Town, as everywhere in Greater London, the ULEZ applies and kerb space is limited. Where will the truck or trailer stop? A drive, a courtyard or a suspended bay can all work.

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly.

On the menu in Old Town

  • Horchata
  • Agua de jamaica (hibiscus)
  • Soft drinks
  • Fruit aguas frescas
  • Margaritas

Comparing your options

DIY drinks tables are easy but need constant topping up. Bar staff keep drinks flowing and cold. A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, because it needs no venue kitchen. Ask us for a quote.

What you get with us

  • Allergen information for everything we serve
  • Catering across Greater London, including Old Town
  • Menus for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests
  • Set-up planned with you and your venue

Old Town questions

Where would you park in Old Town?

That depends on the street. A drive, a courtyard or a bay suspended by the council can all work, so tell us what’s outside your venue. The ULEZ covers all of Greater London.

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Duppas Hill?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we will send what they need from us.

What access do you need?

The main things are access and a level spot: a level spot to park, space for guests to queue and a little room for a serving table. Send us a photo and tell us about gates, slopes and soft ground.

What can we have at the bar?

Margaritas and Mexican beer, with aguas frescas like horchata and agua de jamaica, plus alcohol-free choices.

Are plates and napkins included?

Please ask us. Tell us what your venue provides, and we’ll confirm what’s included with your quote.

Can you come to a private house?

Yes, if the truck or trailer can get in and park on level, firm ground. Tell us about the drive, gates and any slopes.

What does a Mexican bar cost?

Every bar is quoted for individually, depending on guests, drinks and timings. For a price, send a quick message through our quote form.

Is the food made fresh?

We cook to order in our food truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.
