Mexican bar hire near Ryde

Ryde: your questions answered

Can you serve near the sea around Ryde?

We can, given firm ground and the landowner’s permission. Beaches and promenades usually need the council’s agreement, so check that first.

Could you serve our guests after a service at All Saints' Church?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

What about power on site?

It depends on the event and the set-up, so we confirm power and water arrangements with each booking. Tell us what’s available at your venue.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes, we offer a Mexican drinks bar, serving margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas such as hibiscus and horchata, and soft drinks. Alcohol at an event may need a licence, such as a premises licence or a Temporary Event Notice, so we’ll check the licensing with you.

What areas do you cover?

We cover London and the South East, including the Isle of Wight. See all areas.

Can we book the bar without food?

You can. Book the bar on its own, or with our Mexican catering.

How much space do you need?

A level, firm spot for the truck or trailer, with access wide and high enough to drive in, and the venue’s agreement. Power and water arrangements are confirmed with each booking.

What food and drinks do you offer?

Every menu is agreed with you. Fillings could include chicken tinga, pork carnitas, al pastor-style pork and vegan options like black beans. See our menu for ideas.

How our Mexican bar hire works in Ryde

Alcohol at an event needs the right licence: either the venue’s premises licence or a Temporary Event Notice. We talk licensing through with you before the day. It works well for product launches and client events and anniversaries and engagements, serving agua de jamaica, aguas frescas and alcohol-free drinks.

In Ryde, drinks and street food together make an easy, complete package. Let us know about the venue and the route in. We’ll check the space, access and power with you before the day, so there are no surprises on arrival.

What Mexican bar hire costs

Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • How many guests we’re serving
  • Food, drinks or both
  • Parking and the route in
  • What’s on the menu

The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, plus any add-ons and the location. We quote for each event individually.

Getting an accurate quote

These details help us quote quickly:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • What you’d like on the menu
  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers

We need only a few details to quote: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. To send them, fill in our quote form.

Step by step

When service finishes, we pack up and leave our area tidy. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. At midsummer, it is light in Ryde until about 9:20pm, ideal for drinks outdoors. In late September it is dark around 7:10pm, and in December by about 4:00pm, so evening bars need lighting.

  1. First, we check your date.
  2. We suggest margaritas, beer, aguas frescas and alcohol-free choices.
  3. We agree where the bar goes.
  4. The bar opens at the agreed time.
  5. We tidy up at the end.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us when you want service to start
  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat

Planning the serving area

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We need:

  • Power and water arrangements, confirmed with each booking
  • A spot away from neighbours’ windows if the bar runs late
  • A flat, firm spot for the bar

Out-of-the-way places like Ryde take a little more planning, so let us know about tracks, gates and power in good time.

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

What we offer

  • Margaritas
  • Soft drinks
  • Agua de jamaica (hibiscus)

Drinks bars for events in Ryde

Ryde is about 6 miles south of Gosport, in the Isle of Wight. For an event in Ryde, we can park up at venues, fields, drives and courtyards. We cater in all 125 towns and villages in the Isle of Wight, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. Our truck and trailer cover the area from Ryde to Southampton (17 miles away).

If the service is at a church such as All Saints' Church, the bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church. Anyone leaving the car at home will want to know that Ryde has its own station, Ryde St Johns Road station. Drinks by the sea could work, as Ryde is within about a mile of the coast. Licensing on the seafront needs checking, and we will do that with you.

We cater events across PO33. That could mean an event at a home with a drive on High Street, St Thomas' Square and Market Street. You will find Ryde on the A3054 and A3055, so it is easy for us to reach with the truck or trailer. Other places close to Ryde for Mexican bar hire include Oakfield (1 mile south-east), Haylands (1 mile south-west), Elmfield (1 mile south-east), Appley (1 mile east) and Westridge (1 mile south-east). Within a short drive, we also cover Newport (6 miles west), Cowes (7 miles west), Sandown (5 miles south), Shanklin (6 miles south), Ventnor (9 miles south) and East Cowes (6 miles west). Being one of the Isle of Wight’s larger places, Ryde has lots of places to hold an event, though town-centre access for a truck or trailer needs planning. Remote venues take a little more planning, so ask early about your event.

Other landmarks nearby include Gosport War Memorial Hospital (4.8 miles north) and Sandown Castle (4.7 miles south). Not far away are Brading Down and Alan Hersey Nature Reserve.

  • Nearby schools include Ryde School with Upper Chine (less than half a mile north-west) and Ryde Academy (0.5 miles west)
  • Nearby, you will find The Falcon pub (less than half a mile west)

Planning drinks for every guest

To get the most from the bar, it helps to:

  • Have plenty of water available
  • Plan alcohol-free drinks for drivers
  • Collect allergy details in advance
  • Tell us how many guests are under 18

We adapt if the timings shift.

More bar staff for larger crowds.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
