Choosing a Mexican caterer

What Mexican party catering costs

Each event is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Food, drinks or both
  • Staff for serving and the bar
  • Whether you need disposables

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

What to tell us

Good planning starts with a few facts. Try to include:

  • The venue or postcode
  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • Your date and when you want service to start

Every quote is put together for your event. Tell us your date and guest numbers, and we’ll confirm whether we’re available that day.

Why choose Mexican party catering in Haylands?

Unlike a barbecue, there is no waiting for the next batch, and there is no host stuck at the grill. Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the length of service, along with extras and where your event is. We quote for each event individually.

Why book Mobile Mexican Catering in Haylands

  • Tacos, burritos and a drinks bar
  • Menus for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests
  • Set-up planned with you and your venue
  • A menu agreed with you

See our prices page or the cost guide.

Planning the serving area

Everything is served from our truck or trailer, so where we park matters. Here’s what we look for:

  • A picture of the drive or garden helps us check the space
  • Power and water, which we confirm with you for each booking
  • Clear vehicle access: gate widths, height limits and the ground checked before the day

Haylands is a more remote spot, so tell us early and we’ll plan the journey and access for the truck or trailer.

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Hosting a taco party in Haylands

Haylands is about 1 mile south-west of Ryde, in the Isle of Wight. From the centre of Haylands to the outskirts, we offer the same service: fresh service from our truck or trailer, every diet planned for and a clear quote. We serve in all 125 towns and villages in the Isle of Wight, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. Our nearest city page is Southampton, about 17 miles away.

Historic houses near Haylands include Nunwell House (2.5 miles south) and Morton Manor (3.3 miles south). Grand settings like these often have strict rules on outside caterers and vehicles, so for most parties a garden or hired hall is simpler. Once the service at a church like Church of St. Michael and All Angels is over, the party can move somewhere with space for the truck and a queue. A party by the sea is within reach, as Haylands is within about 2 miles of the coast. Wind and soft sand are the things to plan for.

Here we cover the PO33 postcode area, and we can cater your party anywhere in it with access for the truck or trailer. Your party could be at a home on Play Lane, Pell Lane and Upton Road or the roads around them. We also serve at parties in Upton (1 mile south-west), Ryde (1 mile north-east), Oakfield (1 mile east), Binstead (1 mile north-west) and Elmfield (1 mile east). Within a short drive, we also cover Newport (6 miles west), Cowes (6 miles north-west), Sandown (4 miles south), Shanklin (6 miles south), Ventnor (9 miles south) and East Cowes (5 miles north-west). If your party is somewhere remote, tell us early so we can plan the journey, access and power.

A little further out are Sandown Castle (4.4 miles south) and Gosport War Memorial Hospital (5.3 miles north). Green spaces nearby include Alan Hersey Nature Reserve and Brading Down.

  • Local schools include Ryde Academy (less than half a mile north) and Ryde School with Upper Chine (0.8 miles north-east)
  • Nearby, you’ll find The Falcon pub (0.5 miles north-east)

Organising for someone else?

Hosting a party at home? Send us a picture of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we will let you know if it is a good fit.

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.

How the day works

The truck or trailer tends to draw a crowd, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. We can serve in the rain, but guests will need somewhere covered. At midsummer, it is light in Haylands until about 9:20pm, so a garden party can run well into the evening. By late September sunset is around 7:10pm, so plan festoon lights for later parties.

  1. We start by checking your date and the space.
  2. You choose fillings, sides and extras.
  3. Power, water and access are agreed in advance.
  4. We serve hot food at the time you choose.
  5. We pack away and the party carries on.

Before we arrive

  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Tell us when you want service to start

Planning help

Haylands: your questions answered

Which station should guests use for Haylands?

Guests can use Ryde St Johns Road station, about 0.9 miles north-east of Haylands.

Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of St. Michael and All Angels?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Do you have gluten-free options?

We can, using corn tortillas. Corn is naturally gluten-free, though some sauces and toppings can contain gluten, so we plan gluten-free dishes carefully and give allergen information.

Do you need power and water?

Let us know what’s available on site, such as a supply from the venue near where we will park, and we’ll confirm the arrangements with your quote.

Can you do a kids’ option?

It’s popular with children, particularly quesadillas. Tell us how many children and their ages.

Can you run a bar?

Yes, we run a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Your venue or event may need the right licence for alcohol, so we will go through the licensing with you.

Do you give allergen information?

Our menus are planned with allergies in mind, nut allergies included, with allergen information for every dish. We keep options separate, but we can’t promise anything is completely allergen-free. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.

What will our party cost?

Every party is quoted for individually, depending on numbers, menu and where you are. Contact us for a quote.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
