Street food for events around Brookland

Brookland is about 10 miles south of Ashford, in Kent. Give us the address of your event in Brookland, and we will plan the journey and set-up. Brookland is one of 922 places in Kent we cover. Our nearest city page is Canterbury, about 22 miles away.

For a church fête or fundraiser, at a church such as St Augustine's Church, a taco truck adds hot food to the cakes and tombola. A school such as Brookland Church of England Primary School running a summer fair could book a taco truck. Seafront festivals and markets, with the coast within about 6 miles of Brookland, need the organiser’s permission for traders. Send us the pitch details and we will check access.

Roughly 53 miles from the centre of London, and we cover it.

Which station is closest to Brookland?

The closest is Appledore (Kent) station, roughly 2.5 miles away.

Do you clear up afterwards?

Our area is packed away and left tidy. Let us know the venue’s rules on waste and we’ll confirm the arrangements with your quote.

Do you have gluten-free options?

We can, using corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, but some fillings, sauces and toppings may not be, so we plan gluten-free dishes carefully and give allergen information.

Can we have a build-your-own taco bar?

We can. A build-your-own taco bar can be served from the truck or a serving station, with fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings.

What areas do you cover?

How to compare caterers

Mexican street food or something else?

Food that sits in a hot cabinet isn’t much to look at. Everything we serve is assembled to order. The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, along with extras and where your event is. We quote for each event individually.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: see how many tacos per person. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it is more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Read our guide to taco bars.

Prices and what affects them

Your quote will be clear. The main things that affect it are:

  • Parking and the route in
  • How many guests we’re serving
  • Timings and hours
  • What’s on the menu

Access, parking and the distance to your venue can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. The full price is confirmed in your quote.

What we need to know

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what’s useful:

  • What you’d like on the menu
  • Where the event is
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • A photo of the space, if it is a garden or field

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. When you are ready, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

Space, access and the venue

Before the day, we will agree where we park and serve. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:

  • Access for the truck or trailer at set-up
  • The event’s site rules and timings
  • Spacing from tents and other structures

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly.

The process

On the day, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. Service starts at the time we have agreed, planned around your event. Summer events in Brookland have daylight until about 9:15pm at midsummer and about 7:00pm by late September, which helps evening trading. Winter markets, dark by about 3:50pm, need a well-lit pitch.

  1. Send us your event details and pitch information.
  2. We send our menu, needs and the documents you ask for.
  3. We arrive and set up at the agreed time.
  4. Orders are served from the hatch while the event runs.
  5. We pack down and tidy the pitch.

Preparing for the day

  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
