How Mexican catering works in TN29
A build-your-own taco bar is one of the most sociable ways to feed a crowd. Guests fill their own tortillas from the fillings, salsas and toppings, so nobody ends up with something they do not want. We serve a build-your-own taco bar, fresh salsas and guacamole and burrito bowls, and it suits christenings and family parties and company summer parties.
Serving is quick: guests are served at the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. When service ends, we pack down.
- Contact us with the basics: when, where and how many.
- We come back with menu ideas and a quote.
- Closer to the day, we confirm timings and arrangements.
- At the agreed time, service starts from the truck or trailer.
- When you’re done, we pack away.
Cost
Pricing depends on the event. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Contact us for a quote.

Taco catering in TN29: local guide
Across TN29, we cater in 3 towns and 11 villages and hamlets, so whether your event is in Dymchurch, Lydd and St Mary's Bay or a quiet village, the approach is the same: access, level ground and a clear plan. Around 4 places in TN29 are close to the coast, so we often plan around the wind at coastal events, and seafront spots need permission and firm ground for the truck or trailer.
Dymchurch: Parents planning a fundraiser at a school like Dymchurch Primary School might find a Mexican street-food truck draws families in. Around Dymchurch, historic houses include Westenhanger Castle (4.5 miles north). If your event is at a historic house or estate, check its rules on outside caterers and vehicles early. Winter evenings in Dymchurch close in by about 3:50pm, so a well-lit spot for the queue makes a big difference. At midsummer, the light holds until around 9:15pm.
DIY taco night versus a caterer
Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label dishes for guests with allergies.
Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.
Organising for someone else?
If you are booking for a business, tell us what your finance team needs, and we will talk you through the process. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.
Many venues have rules for outside caterers: where vehicles can park, access times and the paperwork they need. Tell us what your venue needs and we will work to it.
Planning the serving area
We’ll agree the spot with you before the day. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:
- Some distance from houses and neighbours
- A flat, firm spot where the truck or trailer can stand
- A spot for a taco-bar serving table
Popular choices
Quesadillas
Tortillas filled with melted cheese and a filling, toasted until crisp.
Loaded nachos
Crisp tortilla chips loaded with toppings, salsa and guacamole, made for sharing.
Planning for every diet
Most events have a mix of diets. To plan for them:
- Ask guests about diets and allergies with your invitations
- Have a covered area ready in case of rain
- Flag anyone with coeliac disease
- Let us know about any other food at the event
When service ends, we pack down and clear our area, leaving the space as we found it.
Ask about extra salsas and toppings for a bigger spread.
TN29 questions
Can you cater for special diets?
We can. There are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests. We give allergen information for every dish.
When should we book?
The sooner the better. Popular dates go first, so it pays to ask early.
Do you cook on site?
We cook to order in our food truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Slow-cooked fillings are prepared in advance and kept hot on site.
What’s on the menu?
Tacos, build-your-own taco bars, burritos, burrito bowls, loaded nachos and quesadillas, with salsas, guacamole and toppings. See our sample menu.
Can guests build their own tacos?
We can. We can set up a build-your-own taco bar, served from the truck or a serving table, with fillings, salsas and toppings to choose from. Read our taco bar guide.
Do you do parties at home?
It depends on access. If the truck or trailer cannot reach the garden, a drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission. Send us a picture and we’ll talk it through.
Do you provide drinks?
Yes, we run a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Alcohol at an event may need a licence, such as a premises licence or a Temporary Event Notice, so we will go through the licensing with you.
