Mexican street food for your event in Charing
We trade at festivals, fairs, markets, school fairs and community events. It suits seasonal and night markets and hospitality and crew areas, serving tacos, loaded nachos and quesadillas.
In Charing, one trader covering most diets keeps it simple. A Mexican street-food truck can do that. We serve from the hatch of our truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.
How we price Mexican street food
Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:
- Parking and the route in
- How many staff you need
- Whether you add a drinks bar or food
- What’s on the menu
Pricing depends on the event. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Your quote sets it all out.
Getting an accurate quote
You don’t need every detail fixed to get a quote, but it helps to know:
- The date and time of the event
- Gate widths, slopes and the ground
- What power and water the site has
- Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. When you’re ready, tell us about it on our contact page.

Should I do it myself?
You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.
Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: see how many tacos per person. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label dishes for guests with allergies.
Planning the serving area
Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We need:
- Your trader pack and site rules
- Vehicle access to the pitch for set-up and break-down
- Clearance from tents and gazebos
Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.
Common questions in Charing
Can you trade at a school fair in Charing?
We can, as long as the school agrees and the truck or trailer can reach the pitch. Tell us the date, the site and roughly how many visitors you expect.
What’s the nearest station to Charing for guests?
Charing has its own station: Charing station.
How long are you on site?
It depends on your event. We agree arrival, service and pack-down times with you to suit your day.
Do you take everything away?
We pack down and tidy our own area after service. For anything beyond that, such as guests’ tables, ask us.
What paperwork do you provide?
Send your requirements and we’ll respond with our documents.
Will you have a stall at our event?
Tell us about your event, and we will confirm availability and requirements.
What areas do you cover?
London and South East England: Greater London, Kent and Medway, Surrey, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, including Charing.
How soon do we need to book?
Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it is soon.
Planning for every diet
Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:
- Ask traders about packaging and waste
- Give traders a single information pack
- Ensure the line-up includes vegan and gluten-free options
- Agree when vehicles can move on site
We keep in touch with your traders’ contact on the day.
Margaritas and Mexican beer, subject to the event’s licence.
Organising for someone else?
Throwing a party at home? Send us a picture of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we will tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.
If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’re happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.
The process
Once service is over, we pack down and clear our own area. Set-up and pack-down times are agreed with you and the venue. Summer events in Charing have daylight until about 9:15pm at midsummer and about 7:00pm by late September, so evening trading typically finishes in daylight in high summer. For winter markets, dark by about 3:50pm, the pitch needs lighting.
- Tell us about the event, the crowd and the pitch.
- We reply with our stall menu and what we need on site.
- We confirm power, water and access arrangements.
- We plan to be ready for the lunchtime rush.
- At close, we pack down and tidy up.
Getting ready for the day
- Measure any gates or arches on the way in
- Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
- Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
