Planning an event in Islington?

Mexican street food for your event in Islington

The menu is agreed with organisers, with fillings such as carnitas, chicken tinga or beef birria, and a vegan filling like black beans. It works well for village fêtes and summer fairs and agricultural and county shows, with burritos, quesadillas and tacos.

Street parties and school fairs in Islington can be a great fit for a taco truck, once permissions are sorted. Guests are served from our food truck or trailer, or from a serving table nearby, and we plan the service around your numbers.

How it works

The truck or trailer tends to draw a crowd, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. We can serve in the rain, but guests will need somewhere covered. Summer events in Islington have daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer and about 7:05pm by late September, which helps evening trading. For winter markets, dark by about 3:55pm, the pitch needs lighting.

  1. Organisers send us the event details, dates and pitch information.
  2. We send our menu, pitch requirements and the documents you ask traders for.
  3. On the day, we arrive in the set-up window and get ready to trade.
  4. We serve from the hatch through the trading times you set.
  5. When trading ends, we pack down and leave the pitch clean.

Preparing for the day

Why choose Mexican street food in Islington?

For crew catering, sandwiches are easy but uninspiring. A hot burrito or taco bowl keeps crew going. The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Why us?

  • Served fresh from our truck or trailer
  • Fast service, even with a queue
  • Access, space and power checked in advance
  • Options for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests

Organising for someone else?

For larger events, we plan serving points around your timings, so guests are looked after quickly. Let us know how long the break is.

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we will work to it.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles allergen information for you.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.
