Mexican street food in St Helens, served fresh

Tacos, burritos and bowls are easy to eat on the move, which suits festival crowds. Popular choices include vegan tacos, tacos and loaded nachos, which works well for agricultural and county shows and school fairs and fundraisers.

Near St Helens, events may be far from shops and cafés, so a hot-food truck is a big help. You will know what’s included before you book: menu, timings and any add-ons.

Before you choose a spot

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We need:

  • Details of power, water and waste arrangements
  • The event’s site rules and timings
  • Spacing from tents and other structures

St Helens is a more remote spot, so tell us early and we will plan the journey and access for the truck or trailer.

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before booking.

The process

When we arrive, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. We’re ready to serve at the agreed time, so everything runs to your schedule. Summer events in St Helens have daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer and about 7:10pm by late September, so evening trading generally finishes in daylight in high summer. Winter markets, dark by about 4:00pm, need a well-lit pitch.

  1. Tell us about the event, the crowd and the pitch.
  2. You get our menu and pitch requirements.
  3. Power, water and access are agreed in advance.
  4. We plan to be ready for the lunchtime rush.
  5. When trading ends, the pitch is cleared and left clean.

Preparing for the day

  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Ask the venue about power and water
  • Tell us when you want service to start

How to get a price

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. To send your details, tell us about it on our contact page.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Your questions about Mexican street food in St Helens

Can you serve near the sea around St Helens?

Yes, as long as the site allows it and the ground is firm. Wind, sand and seafront permissions are the main things to plan on the coast.

Do you come to school fairs around St Helens?

Yes, with the school’s permission and a pitch the truck or trailer can reach. Tell us the date and pitch details.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

We confirm that with your quote. Tell us whether your venue has crockery or you’d prefer disposables.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We clear our own area when service is finished. Ask us if you’d like help with anything else.

Can guests build their own tacos?

Yes. We can set up a build-your-own taco bar, served from the truck or a serving table, with fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings.

How much does Mexican street food cost in St Helens?

Every event is quoted individually, so the price fits what you want. Tell us your date and numbers for a clear quote.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

Our menus are planned with allergies in mind, nut allergies included, and give allergen information for every dish. We plan carefully and keep options separate, though we cannot promise a dish is allergen-free. If a guest has a severe allergy, please talk to us before the event.

Do you do margaritas?

Yes, we offer a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Your venue or event may need the right licence for alcohol, so we’ll check the licensing with you.
