Mexican catering across CT13

Serving from a truck or trailer keeps the mood easy-going. People wander up, order at the hatch and head off with hot food, which suits informal events. Popular choices include burrito bowls, fresh salsas and guacamole and quesadillas, and it suits company summer parties and garden parties.

The truck or trailer tends to draw a crowd, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. We can serve in the rain, but guests will need somewhere covered.

  1. It begins with the basics: your date, venue, guest numbers and dietary needs.
  2. We put together a menu around your guests and quote for it.
  3. Together we confirm where the truck or trailer will park, plus power and water.
  4. We arrive, set up and cook to order, with salsas and guacamole made fresh.
  5. When service ends, we pack down and clear our area.

Catering events across CT13

There are 3 towns and 11 villages and hamlets in CT13, so the setting can be anything from Sandwich, Eastry and Buttsole to a quiet hamlet: access, level ground and a clear plan. 12 of the places we cover in CT13 are within about 6 miles of the sea, so we often plan around the wind at coastal events, and seafront spots need permission and firm ground for the truck or trailer.

Sandwich: Guests leaving a church like Sandwich United Reformed Church after a christening could walk over to a nearby garden where the tacos are ready. By rail: Sandwich has its own station, Sandwich station. Planning an evening event in Sandwich? Sunset is around 8:45pm in late May, 9:15pm at midsummer and 7:00pm in late September. For anything running past sunset, think about lights near the hatch.

Catering for every guest

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because guests can choose what suits them. A few tips:

  • Put any allergies in writing for us
  • Add a dietary question to your RSVP
  • Guests with serious allergies should speak to us in advance
  • Tell us how many children are coming

Once everyone has eaten, we tidy up and pack away, leaving the space as we found it.

Loaded nachos make a good sharing starter.

Comparing your options

For food that feels relaxed but generous, a taco bar or a menu of tacos, burritos and nachos is hard to beat for your event in CT13.

What your quote should include

  • Space, access, power and water needs
  • Whether VAT is included
  • What happens if it rains
  • When final numbers are due

What we need at the venue

Before the day, we’ll agree where we park and serve. A good spot ticks these boxes:

  • The venue’s or landowner’s permission for a catering vehicle
  • Details of power and water on site, agreed when you book
  • A clear area in front of the hatch for a queue

About the menu

Build-your-own taco bar

A taco bar is relaxed and sociable, and guests with different diets can choose what suits them.

Burritos and burrito bowls

Burritos are filling and easy to eat on the move. The bowl version suits anyone avoiding tortillas.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it is more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.
