Mexican catering in EC1M

Mexican catering in EC1M: what to expect

Food from a truck or trailer feels relaxed. Guests come up to the hatch, chat while they wait and take something hot back to their seats. It works well for weddings, day or evening and leaving parties, serving a build-your-own taco bar, loaded nachos and burritos.

The truck or trailer tends to draw a crowd, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. We can serve in the rain, though guests will want somewhere covered to stand or sit.

  1. Start by telling us about your event.
  2. You get a sample menu and a quote.
  3. We agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
  4. On the day we park up, set up and serve hot food to order.
  5. We pack down after service and leave the area tidy.

Mexican catering across EC1M: what to know

EC1M covers everything from Blackfriars to 0 small villages and hamlets, and a truck or trailer suits most settings with access and level ground. Town events mean planning parking; village events mean planning access and ground.

Blackfriars: By rail: Blackfriars has its own station, London Blackfriars station. When the service is at a church such as St Ann Blackfriars, the food usually happens elsewhere, at a field, hall or garden with room for the truck. Winter evenings in Blackfriars close in by about 3:55pm, so choose a spot where guests can see what they’re ordering. In late June, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:20pm.

Popular choices

Build-your-own taco bar

A taco bar is relaxed and sociable, and guests with different diets can choose what suits them.

Burritos and burrito bowls

A burrito is a meal in one. Bowls suit guests who want to skip the tortilla.

Planners, venues and businesses

Events in public spaces, like parks, normally need permission. We’ll provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: where vehicles can park, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

Catering for every guest

Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Count children separately
  • Add a dietary question to your RSVP
  • Plan somewhere covered for guests to eat if it rains
  • Tell us about coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences

We can still serve from the hatch if it rains, though guests need somewhere under cover to eat.

Burrito bowls suit guests who’d rather skip the tortilla, and they’re easy to adapt for different diets.

What Mexican catering costs

Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • What’s on the menu
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • Travel, parking and access
  • How long we’re needed on site

Pricing depends on the event. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Your quote sets it all out.

What to tell us

You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:

  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • The date and time of the event
  • A picture of where we’d park

DIY taco night or a caterer?

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, with allergen information for every dish.

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label anything containing allergens.

EC1M: your questions answered

Do you provide drinks?

Yes. The drinks bar can be added to food or booked on its own, with alcohol-free options such as aguas frescas. For alcohol, we will go through the licensing with you and your venue.

What can we choose from?

Tacos and taco bars, plus burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas. See our sample menu.

How spicy is the food?

That’s your choice: we can keep the main dishes mild, with hotter salsas served separately. Read more about how spicy Mexican food is.

What about power on site?

It depends on the event and the set-up, so we confirm power and water arrangements with each booking. Let us know whether there is a supply near where we will park.

What’s on the menu?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings might include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria and vegan options such as spiced mushrooms or black beans. Our sample menu has more ideas.

Do you do parties at home?

Yes, if the truck or trailer can get in and park on level, firm ground. Tell us about the drive, gates and any slopes.

Can you cater for guests who avoid dairy?

We can. Dairy-free options are part of our menus, and we will tell you which dishes contain milk.
