Mexican catering in PO39: what to expect

We slow-cook the fillings ahead and finish them on site, and the salsas and guacamole are freshly made. We warm the tortillas as each order goes out. We serve burritos, tacos and a build-your-own taco bar, which works well for family celebrations and anniversaries and engagements.

Your timings come first. If things run behind, tell us and we will adjust the start of service where we can.

  1. It begins with the basics: your date, venue, guest numbers and dietary needs.
  2. You get a suggested menu, with fillings agreed with you, and a quote.
  3. We check access, power and water with you or the venue.
  4. We arrive, set up and cook to order, with salsas and guacamole made fresh.
  5. Once everyone has eaten, we tidy our serving area and head off.

Taco catering in PO39: local guide

From Totland and Colwell to 1 villages and hamlets, events across PO39 range from town-centre venues to gardens and fields, and a food truck or trailer can work in all of them, given access. Town events mean planning parking; village events mean planning access and ground.

Totland: When the service is at a church such as Christ Church, the food typically happens elsewhere, at a field, hall or garden with room for the truck. By road, Totland is on or near the B3322, which makes it easy for us to reach with the truck or trailer. Around midsummer it stays light in Totland until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. In December it is dark by about 4:05pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

Catering for every guest

Most events have a mix of diets. To plan for them:

  • Ensure the menu has a vegan option
  • Ask guests about diets and allergies with your invitations
  • Count children separately
  • Check that your venue allows outside caterers and vehicles

Rain doesn’t stop us serving from the truck or trailer, but guests will need somewhere covered to eat.

Add our Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas, with licensing checked with you.

Where do you cater?

London and the South East: Greater London, Kent and Medway, Surrey, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, including PO39.

Do you need power and water?

It depends on the event and the set-up, and we agree power and water with you before the day. Let us know whether there is a supply near where we will park.

When should we book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it is soon.

How much will it cost?

We quote for each event, depending on numbers, menu, venue and timings. Contact us for a quote.

Do you do parties at home?

Yes, if the truck or trailer can get in and park on level, firm ground. Tell us about the drive, gates and any slopes, and we will tell you honestly whether it works.

What guest numbers do you cater for?

That depends on the event. Most bookings fall around 50 to 400 guests, but tell us your numbers and we’ll plan around them.

What if it rains?

The truck or trailer serves in the rain, but guests will need somewhere covered to eat.
