Mexican catering in UB1

About Mexican catering in UB1

Few things get guests chatting like a build-your-own taco bar. Everyone builds their own tacos from what’s laid out, so nobody ends up with something they do not want. It works well for staff parties and office lunches and garden parties, with fresh salsas and guacamole, burrito bowls and a build-your-own taco bar.

We need a level, firm spot we can drive the truck or trailer onto, with power and water arrangements agreed beforehand. Send us a picture of the space if you’re unsure.

  1. Share the date, the venue and how many are coming.
  2. We plan a menu that covers every diet.
  3. We confirm the way in and where we will park.
  4. Guests order at the hatch or build their own at the taco bar.
  5. We clear our serving area when everyone is fed.

Mexican catering across UB1: what to know

Across UB1, we cater in 3 towns and 0 villages and hamlets, so the setting can be anything from Southall, Greenford and Yeading to a quiet hamlet: a level, firm spot, a way in and agreed timings.

Dormers Wells: For guests coming by train, the nearest station is Southall station, about 0.9 miles south-west. A school such as Dormers Wells Junior School running a summer fair or fundraiser could book a taco truck. Winter evenings in Dormers Wells close in by about 3:55pm, so a well-lit spot for the queue makes a big difference. In late June, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:20pm.

How we price Mexican catering

These are the factors that matter most:

  • How many staff you need
  • How long we are needed on site
  • The number of people
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food

The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

What we need to know

To check availability and price, we need:

  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • What power and water the site has
  • Expected numbers
  • What you’d like on the menu

Most quotes start with a few simple details: date, location, guest numbers and diets. To send them, use our quote form.

Should I do it myself?

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone has to serve all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.

Diets, allergies and planning

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because guests can choose what suits them. A few tips:

  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Add a dietary question to your RSVP
  • Ask guests with severe allergies to talk to us before the event
  • Put any allergies in writing for us

On the day, we arrive in good time to park up and get ready. Someone from the venue just needs to point us to the agreed spot.

Tell us if you need plates, cutlery or serving staff and we will confirm what’s possible with your quote.

Mexican catering or something else?

A drop-off platter is easy, but nobody remembers it. Live service from a truck or trailer gives guests hot food and something to talk about.

Comparing caterers

  • How each diet is kept separate
  • How many staff are serving, and for how long
  • Exactly what’s included in the price
  • The wet-weather plan

UB1 questions

How long do you serve for?

We get there well before service to set up. Serving times are agreed with you in advance.

How much is a food truck for an event?

Every event is quoted individually, based on what you actually need. Tell us your date and numbers and we’ll reply with a quote.

How does your Mexican catering work?

We arrive with our own mobile kitchen. We set up at your venue, serve hot food to order and pack down afterwards.

Can you plan for allergies?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. UK law requires caterers to provide information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.

Can you cater for special diets?

We plan carefully for diets and keep options separate, though we can’t guarantee a kitchen with no trace of any allergen. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. Tell us your numbers and we will advise.

What areas do you cover?

We cover London and the South East, Greater London included. See all areas.
