Wedding Mexican catering for your wedding in Basted

A Mexican menu makes mixed diets easier: there are vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free options, corn tortillas for gluten-free guests and allergen information for every dish. Popular choices include loaded nachos, a taco bar for the wedding breakfast and evening tacos, and it suits sharing-style wedding meals and vow renewals and blessings.

A wedding in a small place like Basted often means a field, a barn or a family garden. That is where a food truck comes into its own: no kitchen, just firm ground and access. Tell us about lanes, gates and ground conditions. You’ll know what’s included before booking: the menu, the service time and any extras you choose.

Planning for every diet

With a little notice, most diets are easy. We suggest:

  • Check your date with us early
  • Include suppliers who need feeding
  • Share your running order, including speeches
  • Flag any coeliac guests or serious allergies

If speeches or photos run over, tell us, and we will adjust when we serve so the food is still hot.

We can feed your photographer and band too.

How it compares

Evening food is often pizza or bacon rolls. Tacos and loaded nachos feel a bit more special. Larger events can cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

What we offer in Basted

  • Served fresh from our food truck or trailer
  • Book food, drinks or both
  • We cover Basted and the whole of Kent
  • Menus for vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free guests

Take a look at how we price and our guide to catering costs.

Step by step

Serving is quick: guests are served at the hatch or a serving station, so a crowd is looked after quickly. When service ends, we pack down. A winter wedding in Basted gets dark early, at about 3:55pm in December, so evening guests will be queuing in the dark. Festoon lights by the truck help guests see the menu.

  1. First, we check availability for your date.
  2. You choose the fillings, sides and extras.
  3. We confirm access and the serving spot with your coordinator.
  4. Guests build their tacos at the taco bar or order at the hatch.
  5. We serve, then pack down.

How to prepare

  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough
  • Tell us when you want service to start

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. To send your details, send a quick message through our quote form.

Planning help

Why choose wedding Mexican catering in Basted?

It fits barns, marquees and gardens, where a formal sit-down meal is harder to manage.

Big or small, a truck or trailer works well. Common bookings include:

  • Farm and barn venues
  • Vow renewals and blessings
  • Engagement celebrations
  • Late-evening wedding food

It helps to add rail details to the invitations, as the nearest station is Borough Green & Wrotham station, about 0.9 miles north.

Before booking anyone

  • Any travel, parking or access charges
  • Whether VAT is included
  • When payment is due
  • Allergen information for each dish

Choosing a Mexican caterer

Should I do it myself?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Planners, venues and businesses

For larger events, we plan serving points around your timings, so guests are looked after quickly. Tell us how long you have for food and drinks.

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

Basted questions

We are having a ceremony at The Church of the Good Shepherd: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Send us the reception address.

How far is Basted from London?

It is about 23 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Can you cater for children?

Yes, children are easy to plan for. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we’ll suggest mild options.

Where do you cater?

London and the South East: Greater London, Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire.

Do you need power and water?

Tell us what the site has, such as a supply from the venue near where we will park, and we will confirm the arrangements with your quote.

What if the timings change?

It happens at most weddings. Service starts when your running order says, even if that moves.

Can you cater in a back garden?

Yes, if the truck or trailer can get in and park on level, firm ground. Tell us about the drive, gates and any slopes, and we will tell you honestly whether it works.

What’s on the menu?

Every menu is agreed with you. Fillings might include chicken tinga, pork carnitas, al pastor-style pork and vegan options like black beans. See our menu for ideas.
