About our wedding Mexican catering in Clayhall

A taco bar at a wedding feels relaxed and generous. Everyone fills their own tortillas from the fillings, salsas and toppings, and the queue becomes a chance to chat. For day-after wedding get-togethers and farm and barn venues, we will put together a menu of a taco bar for the wedding breakfast, fresh guacamole and salsas and tacos and more.

Weddings in a place like Clayhall often feel personal: a local church, then a marquee in a garden or field. A truck or trailer parked by the marquee fits right in. Let us know about gates and ground for the truck or trailer. Your quote sets out what’s included: the menu, the service time and any extras you choose.

Clayhall questions

Could you serve our guests after a service at St Francis?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

What’s the nearest station to Clayhall for guests?

The closest is Portsmouth Harbour station, roughly 1.4 miles away.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes. The drinks bar can be added to food or booked on its own. For alcohol, we’ll talk licensing through with you and your venue.

How big an event can you cater?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. For anything outside that, ask us.

Can we add margaritas?

You can add our drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas. Your venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice will be needed for alcohol, and we will check that with you.

What happens if it rains?

We can serve from the hatch in the rain. It’s worth planning a covered area for guests, and tell us if heavy rain could make the ground soft.

Do you provide plates and napkins?

Please ask us. Let us know what you already have, and we will set out plates, napkins and cutlery in your quote.

Can you cater for guests who avoid dairy?

We can. Dairy-free options are part of our menus.

Space, access and the venue

Everything is served from our food truck or trailer, so where we park matters. These are the things we check:

  • A serving point within easy walk of the reception
  • Access wide and high enough to drive in, with gates and soft lawns checked first
  • Room for a queue in front of the serving hatch

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before you book.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Weighing up a DIY taco night against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

How it works

We arrive in good time before service, set up the truck or trailer and get everything ready. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. By late September, sunset in Clayhall is around 7:10pm, which can put the evening food just after dusk. A late-May wedding keeps its light until roughly 8:55pm.

  1. Tell us the date, the venue, day and evening numbers and your plans.
  2. Together we choose a taco bar, evening food or both, and we send a quote.
  3. Timings and where the truck or trailer will stand are agreed with your venue.
  4. On the day we set up and serve when your running order says.
  5. After the last serving, we clear our area.

How to prepare

  • Ask the venue about power and water
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park

Planning for every diet

With a little notice, most diets are easy. Our advice:

  • Send us the running order and speech times
  • Plan a covered area for eating in case of rain
  • Let us know about severe allergies in writing
  • Ask about your date as soon as you have one

We serve evening food when the running order says, often after the first dance.

Nachos to share work well later in the evening.

What wedding Mexican catering costs

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • How many staff you need
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • Timings and hours
  • The number of people

Extra dishes, drinks and longer service are priced on request, so you can choose what you need.

Getting an accurate quote

These details help us quote quickly:

  • Expected numbers
  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • What you’d like on the menu
  • A picture of the space, if it is a garden or field

We quote for each event separately, so the price fits what you actually want. For a quote, send a quick message through our quote form.
