Catering for every guest

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Put us in touch with your venue
  • Check your date with us early
  • Count day and evening guests separately
  • Have cover for guests if the weather turns

A taco bar is laid out on a table, and guests can be called up by table.

Loaded nachos make easy evening food.

Planning the serving area

No two venues are the same, so we’ll ask about yours before we confirm. In general, we need:

  • A serving spot close to the marquee or reception area
  • Space for guests to queue
  • The venue’s or landowner’s permission for a catering vehicle

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.

How the day works

A typical event goes like this: we arrive and set up, we open the hatch when you’re ready, and your guests are served fresh for the agreed time. Late-September weddings in East Clandon see the sun go down at about 7:05pm, which can put the evening food just after dusk. A late-May wedding keeps its light until roughly 8:55pm.

  1. Send us your wedding date, venue and numbers.

  3. We agree timings and access with the venue.
  4. We serve at the agreed points in the day.
  5. We pack down and leave our area tidy.

Weddings in East Clandon: venues, ceremonies and travel

East Clandon is about 4 miles east of Guildford, in Surrey. Across the GU4 area, we will come to your venue or site. East Clandon is one of 395 towns and villages in Surrey where we can bring wedding Mexican catering.

With a ceremony at a church such as Church of St Thomas of Canterbury, the simplest plan is a reception close by, so guests are not travelling far before they eat. Service can start as guests arrive. Wedding guests without a car will want to know that the nearest station is Clandon station, about 1.1 miles north-west. A rural reception could be within reach, as the Surrey Hills National Landscape is no more than about 3 miles from East Clandon. Firm ground and a clear way in matter more than the view for a food truck.

Here we cover the GU4 postcode area, and we can cater your wedding anywhere in it with access for the truck or trailer. Local streets include The Street, School Lane and Sawpit Lane; for a wedding at home on any of them, tell us where the truck or trailer can park. For weddings just outside East Clandon, we cover West Horsley (2 miles north-east), Albury (2 miles south), Shere (2 miles south), East Horsley (3 miles north-east) and Gomshall (3 miles south-east). Larger places within reach include Guildford (4 miles west), Woking (6 miles north-west), Camberley (12 miles north-west), Epsom (11 miles north-east), Horley (15 miles east) and Redhill (14 miles east).

Questions to ask before you book

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

Organising for someone else?

Planning an event for a club, school or charity in East Clandon? A truck or trailer serves a crowd quickly, with options for most diets. Give us the details and we’ll suggest a plan.

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we’ll explain how it works. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

East Clandon questions

We are having a ceremony at Church of St Thomas of Canterbury: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Send us the reception address.

How far is East Clandon from central London?

It is about 24 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

What if our speeches run late?

It happens at most weddings. Food is served to order, so we can start when you are ready, even if that moves.

Can you serve drinks at our wedding?

Yes, our Mexican drinks bar serves margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas. Licensing is checked with you and the venue.

Do you have vegan options?

Of course. Vegetarian and vegan fillings, such as spiced mushrooms or black beans, can be part of the menu.

Do you cook on site?

We cook to order in our food truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Slow-cooked fillings are prepared in advance and kept hot on site.

What happens if it rains?

We can serve from the hatch in the rain. Plan cover for guests, such as a marquee or gazebo, and tell us if heavy rain could make the ground soft.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

We plan allergen-aware menus, including for nut allergies, with allergen information for every dish. We plan carefully and keep options separate, though we can’t promise a dish is allergen-free. If a guest has a severe allergy, please talk to us before the event.
