Getting married in Golden Cross?

Golden Cross is about 4 miles north-west of Hailsham, in East Sussex. Tell us where your wedding in Golden Cross will be, and we will plan access and set-up. We cater in all 289 towns and villages in East Sussex, from the larger towns to small villages. You can also see our page for Brighton, about 14 miles away.

Close to Golden Cross are historic houses such as Michelham Priory (2.3 miles south-east) and Horselunges Manor (2.8 miles east). Couples booking a stately setting should check where a truck or trailer is allowed to park before signing anything. If you’re marrying at a church near Golden Cross, such as The Parish Church, a reception in a garden, field or venue nearby keeps the day flowing. A rural reception could be within reach, as the South Downs National Park is no more than about 6 miles from Golden Cross. Firm ground and a clear way in matter more than the view for a food truck.

Diets, allergies and planning

Nearly every event has some special diets. To plan for them:

  • Confirm the venue’s catering rules early
  • Connect us with your coordinator
  • Tell us about guests with coeliac disease or severe allergies
  • Enquire early for summer Saturdays

Allergen information is available for every dish, and every dish is labelled at the serving point.

A wider choice of salsas and toppings fills out the taco bar.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

The menu, item by item

Salsas and guacamole

Guacamole and salsas, made fresh.

Burrito bowls

Bowls suit guests who’d rather skip the tortilla.

Wedding Mexican catering or something else?

Pizza and bacon rolls are common evening choices. Tacos and loaded nachos feel a bit more special. If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we’ll suggest a menu to match. Even a simple menu can feel generous.

Why us?

  • Food and drinks from one caterer, if you want both
  • Every guest catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free included
  • A clear quote
  • Allergen information for every dish

How the day works

We work to your timings. If speeches run late or the photos take longer, let us know and we will adjust where we can. For a summer wedding in Golden Cross, the sun sets at about 9:15pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, which means evening food is normally served in daylight in June and July. For autumn and winter weddings, when it is dark by about 3:55pm in December, plan lighting around the truck or trailer.

  1. Tell us the date, the venue, day and evening numbers and your plans.
  2. We plan the food with you: wedding breakfast, evening food or both.
  3. We confirm access, the serving spot and the running order with the venue.
  4. We arrive, set up and serve the food at the agreed times.
  5. Once service is done, we pack away quietly.

Before we arrive

  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Tell us about narrow gates or low branches

What affects the price in Golden Cross

Your quote will be clear. The main things that affect it are:

  • How long we are needed on site
  • The menu you choose
  • Guest numbers
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. The full price is confirmed in your quote.

Getting an accurate quote

To check availability and price, we need:

  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • The venue or postcode

Not sure what you need yet? That is fine: give us the basics about your wedding, and we will suggest a menu. To start, use our quote form.

Working with your venue

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we will explain how it works. We are happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

Events in public spaces, like parks, generally need permission. We will provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

Questions from Golden Cross

Do you come to events in the South Downs National Park?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. Tell us about narrow lanes and soft ground.

Could you serve our guests after a service at The Parish Church?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Tell us where the reception will be.

Do you clear up afterwards?

Our area is packed away and left tidy. Let us know the venue’s rules on waste and we’ll confirm the arrangements with your quote.

Is the food made fresh?

We slow-cook fillings ahead, then finish them and keep them hot at your event. The tortillas are warmed on site, and the salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Can a taco bar feel special?

It can be dressed up or kept relaxed, depending on how it is served.

What about supplier meals?

Yes. Add your suppliers to the final numbers and we will plan for them.

What if the timings change?

It happens at most weddings. Food is served to order, so we can start when you are ready.
