About our wedding Mexican catering in Picketts Lock

Your wedding menu is agreed with you, with fillings such as slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga or beef birria, plus vegan options like spiced mushrooms or black beans. For engagement celebrations and barn and farm weddings, we’ll put together a menu of burrito bowls, tacos and quesadillas.

In Picketts Lock, couples might book tacos for the wedding breakfast, the evening, or both. Narrow streets mean we plan where the truck or trailer stops, and some venues may need a parking suspension from the council. Food and drinks can be booked together or separately, so the food and drinks can come from one caterer.

Questions from Picketts Lock

Could you serve our guests after a service at All Saints' Church?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Which station should guests use for Picketts Lock?

Guests can use Ponders End station, about 1.2 miles north of Picketts Lock.

Can you feed our photographer and band?

Of course. Add your suppliers to the final numbers and we will plan for them.

How many guests can you serve?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but our truck and trailer service typically suits around 50 to 400 guests. For anything outside that, ask us.

Can we have a build-your-own taco bar?

Yes, a taco bar is one of our options. Let us know your numbers and space and we’ll suggest the best set-up.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes. We can include vegetarian and vegan fillings like black beans or spiced mushrooms.

Can you liaise with the venue coordinator?

Yes. We are happy to talk to your venue about access, timings, power and water.

Are plates and napkins included?

That is confirmed with each quote. Tell us whether your venue has crockery or you’d prefer disposables.

How the day works

Here’s how the day usually runs: we park up and get ready, we open the hatch when you’re ready, and we serve your guests fresh for the agreed time. A winter wedding in Picketts Lock gets dark early, at about 3:50pm in December, so the evening food will be served after dark. Ask your venue what outdoor lighting it has near where we’ll park.

  1. You send us your wedding date, venue, numbers and how you see the day.
  2. We plan the food with you: wedding breakfast, evening food or both.
  3. Timings and where the truck or trailer will stand are agreed with your venue.
  4. On the day, we set up and serve on cue, around speeches and photos.
  5. After the last serving, we clear our area.

Getting ready for the day

  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Tell us when you want service to start
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park

  • Your menu ideas
  • Any dietary needs and allergies

Wedding Mexican catering or something else?

Compared with formal catering, a taco bar is relaxed and sociable, but with good presentation it still feels special. Extra dishes, drinks and longer service are priced on request, so you choose what goes in.

Why book Mobile Mexican Catering in Picketts Lock

  • Options for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests
  • Access, space and power checked in advance
  • A menu agreed with you
  • Tacos, burritos and a drinks bar

Take a look at how we price or our guide to catering costs.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

Planning the serving area

No two venues are the same, so we will ask about yours before we confirm. In general, we need:

  • A serving point within easy walk of the reception
  • Details of power and water on site, agreed when you book
  • A sensible distance from buildings and neighbours

As a London location, Picketts Lock is inside the ULEZ, and parking and loading take planning: tell us about parking bays, permits, a driveway or whether a parking suspension is needed.

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before you book.
