About our wedding Mexican catering in Streatley

A Mexican menu makes mixed diets easier: there are gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan options, corn tortillas for gluten-free guests and allergen information for every dish. For engagement parties at home and relaxed wedding breakfasts, we’ll put together a menu of tacos, quesadillas and burrito bowls and more.

Rural weddings around Streatley have a charm of their own, and tacos served from a truck in a field add to it. Plan for access, soft ground and wet-weather cover for guests. We arrive ready to serve, and clear our own area when service is finished.

How it works

On the day, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. We are ready to serve at the agreed time, planned around your event. In Streatley, midsummer sunset is about 9:25pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:10pm, which means evening food is usually served in daylight in June and July. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it’s dark by about 3:55pm.

  1. We start by checking your date.
  2. You choose the fillings, sides and extras.
  3. We confirm access and the serving spot with your coordinator.
  4. Guests build their tacos at the taco bar or order at the hatch.
  5. After serving, we clear away.

Before we arrive

  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Tell us what power and water the site has

Catering for every guest

Most events have a mix of diets. To plan for them:

  • Collect dietary needs on the RSVP
  • Give us separate day and evening numbers
  • Share your running order, including speeches
  • Think about a covered space for wet weather

A taco bar is laid out on a table, and guests can be called up by table.

We can feed your photographer and band too if you add them to the final count.

Should I do it myself?

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: see how many tacos per person. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label anything containing allergens.

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

Organising for someone else?

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

If you are organising for someone else, whether you are a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we are happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It keeps things simple.

Planning the serving area

Every venue is different, so we will ask about yours when you contact us. In general, we need:

  • Access wide and high enough to drive in, with gates and soft lawns checked first
  • Permission from the venue or landowner
  • Room for a queue in front of the serving hatch

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before booking.

Menu ideas

How it compares

A hog roast is popular at weddings, but harder for vegetarian and vegan guests. Separate fillings and toppings cover every diet. A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, as there’s no kitchen to hire. Ask us for a quote.

Why book with us

  • Access, space and power checked in advance
  • Allergen information for everything we serve
  • Quoted for your event
  • Fast service, even with a queue

Yes, we offer a Mexican drinks bar, serving margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas such as hibiscus and horchata, and soft drinks. Alcohol at an event may need a licence, such as a premises licence or a Temporary Event Notice, so we will go through the licensing with you.
