Choosing a Mexican caterer

Wedding Mexican catering for your wedding in Thorley

Evening food needs to be quick and filling, and tacos or nachos from the truck or trailer do the job. At parties after a register office wedding and relaxed wedding breakfasts, we will put together a menu of quesadillas, loaded nachos and fresh guacamole and salsas for your guests.

There is something special about a country wedding near Thorley, and a food truck by the barn or marquee adds to it. Plan access, ground and cover in case of rain. We arrive ready to serve, and clear our own area when service is finished.

Catering for every guest

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. Our advice:

  • Send us the running order and speech times
  • Tell us about guests with coeliac disease or severe allergies
  • Introduce us to your venue coordinator
  • Ask whether your venue allows food trucks

We pack down after service; the evening carries on without us.

Tell us if you need plates, cutlery or staff, and we’ll confirm what’s possible with your quote.

Is wedding Mexican catering right for your wedding?

Buffets can mean food waiting for a while. Our food is served hot from the truck or trailer. There is no one-size-fits-all price for wedding Mexican catering. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Your quote sets it all out.

What you get with us

  • Quoted for your event
  • A menu built around your guests
  • Every guest catered for, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free included
  • Book food, drinks or both

Read our prices page and what Mexican catering costs.

Planning the serving area

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We look for:

  • Power and water arrangements, confirmed with each booking
  • Access wide and high enough to drive in, with gates and soft lawns checked first
  • A flat, firm spot where the truck or trailer can stand

Out-of-the-way places like Thorley take a little more planning, so let us know about tracks, gates and power in good time.

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before booking.

How it works

Serving is quick: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so a crowd is looked after quickly. When service ends, we pack down. In Thorley, midsummer sunset is about 9:20pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:10pm, which means evening food is generally served in daylight in June and July. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it is dark by about 4:05pm.

  1. You send us your wedding date, venue, numbers and how you see the day.
  2. Together we choose a taco bar, evening food or both, and we send a quote.
  3. Timings and where the truck or trailer will stand are agreed with your venue.
  4. We arrive, set up and serve the food at the agreed times.
  5. Once service is done, we pack away quietly.

Preparing for the day

  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat
  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in

Common questions in Thorley

Do you cater at coastal events near Thorley?

We can, given firm ground and the landowner’s permission. Beaches and promenades typically need the council’s agreement, so check that first.

We are having a ceremony at St. Swithin's Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Will you talk to our venue?

Of course. We’ll speak to your venue about access and timings.

Do you cook on site?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. Tortillas are warmed on site, and salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

What about power on site?

Let us know what’s available on site, such as a supply from the venue near where we will park, and we will confirm the arrangements with your quote.

How long are you on site?

That depends on your event and menu. Timings are agreed in advance to suit your day.

Can you serve in the rain?

Rain does not typically stop service from the truck or trailer. It’s worth planning a covered area for guests, and let us know if the ground gets soft after heavy rain.

What if our speeches run late?

It happens at most weddings. Food is served to order, so we can start when you are ready.

For event organisers in Thorley

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we will follow them.

Hosting a party at home? Send a picture of the space and tell us about access, and we will tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone has to serve all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it is more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
