Wedding Mexican catering in the Isle of Wight: what to expect

We time service around your day: after the drinks reception, between the speeches or once evening guests arrive. Timings are agreed with your venue in advance. On the menu are burrito bowls, evening tacos and a taco bar for the wedding breakfast, and it suits garden and marquee weddings and blessings and vow renewals.

Your timings come first. If things run behind, tell us and we will adjust the start of service where we can.

  1. You send us your wedding date, venue, numbers and how you see the day.
  2. You get a suggested wedding menu and a quote to match.
  3. Timings and where the truck or trailer will stand are agreed with your venue.
  4. We arrive, set up and serve the food at the agreed times.
  5. Once service is done, we pack away quietly.

What you’ll pay

Around Newport

Your wedding could be close to Castle Inn, The Man in the Moon and Seaclose Park and the streets around them. Also close by are Christ The King College (0.6 miles south-west), Island Innovation VI Form Campus (less than half a mile south-east) and Nine Acres Primary School (under half a mile south). Well-known places in the area include Carisbrooke Castle (1 mile south-west) and St Mary's Hospital (0.8 miles north). Open spaces near Newport include Briddlesford Nature Reserve and Mill Hill.

Planning a taco wedding in the Isle of Wight

With 102 villages and hamlets as well as Newport, Ryde and Cowes, the Isle of Wight has plenty of countryside wedding settings. Whatever you choose, we agree access and the serving spot with your venue. 116 of the places we cover in the Isle of Wight are within about 6 miles of the sea, so we often plan around the wind at coastal events, and seafront spots need permission and firm ground for the truck or trailer.

Newport: Briddlesford Nature Reserve nearby could make a lovely backdrop for photos. If you’re hoping for photos in Seaclose Park, check whether the park needs permission for photography or gatherings. Golden-hour photos in Newport at midsummer come around 9:20pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May and 7:10pm in late September.

Comparing your options

Pizza and bacon rolls are common evening choices. Evening tacos are something different.

What your quote should include

  • Payment terms and deposit
  • Allergen information for each dish
  • How long the service runs
  • A food hygiene rating you can check

Catering for every guest

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Here’s how:

  • Let us know about severe allergies in writing
  • Ask about your date as soon as you have one
  • Put us in touch with your venue
  • Add your band and photographer to the numbers

We keep in touch with your venue coordinator on the day, so you do not have to.

Quesadillas suit younger guests.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

Planning the serving area

Every venue is different, so we will ask about yours before we confirm. In general, we need:

  • Access wide and high enough to drive in, with gates and soft lawns checked first
  • A spot away from buildings, windows and neighbours
  • Power and water, which we confirm with you for each booking

Who books wedding Mexican catering?

Guests chat as they build their tacos, which suits a relaxed wedding.

Whatever you are celebrating in the Isle of Wight, our truck or trailer can be the centre of it. We are happy to cater:

  • Late-evening wedding food
  • Civil partnerships and vow renewals
  • Sharing-style wedding meals
  • Engagement parties
