How our wedding Mexican catering works in West Hythe

A food truck or trailer suits barns, marquees, gardens and venues with hardstanding, provided there is safe access and level, firm ground. At late-evening wedding food and weddings with mixed diets, we can serve tacos, quesadillas and burrito bowls.

Rural weddings around West Hythe have a charm of their own, and tacos served from a truck in a field add to it. Plan access, ground and cover in case of rain. We serve from the hatch of our truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

Catering for every guest

A Mexican menu is easy to plan for mixed diets, because guests can choose what suits them. A few tips:

  • Flag any coeliac guests or serious allergies
  • Collect dietary needs on the RSVP
  • Think about a covered space for wet weather
  • Count day and evening guests separately

We serve evening food when the running order says, often after the first dance.

Quesadillas go down well with children at the wedding breakfast.

Comparing your options

If you’re weighing up a taco bar against a traditional menu, consider the venue, the diets and the style you want. If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we will suggest a menu to match. A simple menu can still feel generous.

What you get with us

  • Every guest catered for, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan included
  • Food and drinks from one caterer, if you want both
  • Allergen-aware menus
  • A plan agreed before the day

Should I do it myself?

Weighing up a DIY taco night against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Read our guide to taco bars.

How it works

On the day, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. Service starts at the time we’ve agreed, planned around your event. In West Hythe, midsummer sunset is about 9:15pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:00pm, which means evening food is typically served in daylight in June and July. For autumn and winter weddings, when it’s dark by about 3:50pm in December, plan lighting around the truck or trailer.

  1. Tell us your date, venue and numbers.
  2. Together we plan the food for your day.
  3. We agree timings and access with the venue.
  4. We serve at the agreed points in the day.
  5. We pack down and leave our area tidy.

How to prepare

  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Tell us about narrow gates or low branches
  • Name one person we can ask on the day

How to compare caterers

West Hythe weddings: local tips

West Hythe is about 2 miles west of Hythe, in Kent. We cater weddings at homes, gardens and venues in West Hythe. We cover all 922 towns and villages in Kent, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. Our truck and trailer cover the area from West Hythe to Canterbury (about 15 miles away).

Close to West Hythe are historic houses such as Westenhanger Castle (1.8 miles north). Tolsford Hill is within easy reach of West Hythe. Couples near West Hythe have the Kent Downs National Landscape within about 7 miles, if a countryside setting appeals. Barns and fields there can be reached down narrow tracks, so we check the route with the venue. Couples near the coast, within about 3 miles of West Hythe, sometimes want a beach feel. We need firm ground for the truck or trailer, so a clifftop lawn or venue car park may suit better than the sand.

How we price wedding Mexican catering

Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:

  • What’s on the menu
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • How many staff you need
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food

A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, as there’s no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.
